This is a super cool reimagination of Last Resort by Papa Roach. I really like Falling in Reverse and Ronnie absolutely killed this.

We went to a festival there back in 2017 that was originally supposed to be at Children's Mercy Park, but got moved for some reason. It wasn't awesome - especially the "second stage," which was really just a muddy grass lot with a stage thrown together on it.
That would have been Beach Ball. Not the most aesthetic look/set up but it worked, especially if you were going back and forth from the stages. The soccer complex set ups were disastrous. Was hotter than **** and having the stages at either end pointing at each other was ridiculous.
So excited, the new Waukee Live Nations arena is opening in November! 1st show is Skillet with Theory of a Deadman.
So far my July shows include;
- Falling In Reverse w/ Ice Nine Kills
- Motionless in White w/ In This Moment
- Papa Roach
I haven't been following this thread too closely but I'm not sure where you're coming from re: KC venues. Azura is OK for bigger outdoor shows, The Truman is good, recordBar, Kheads, etc. I saw Weezer at Azura a couple weeks ago. Highly recommend Backseat Lovers. I can't get down for their show this time but saw them last year at the Truman. One of the better live bands I've seen in a long time. And I saw Heart in Des Moines a couple years ago and can say Ann Wilson hasn't lost anything.Can't wait for KC to get boned out of more concerts. Almost every metro I can think of has opened a new venue the last few years, Omaha with 2, this one in Des Moines, StL with 3, Minneapolis with 4-5. So frustrating to live here right now.
The two I'm definitely doing are Tears for Fears w/Cold War Kids and Tommy Newport (someone I always miss). Might do Backseat Lovers, Ann Wilson, and a local band named Grand Marquis. Big ifs on those though. August is kind of the big one with Goth Babe, Limperatrice (flying to Chicago), Sylvan Esso, Billy Joel, Wallflowers, Cannons and possibly the Strokes at RR.
Caught Dirty Heads last night. Hard to believe the stretch of low humidity days we've had here and thankfully last night was included in that stretch. Came to a halt this morning, though.
Fleet Foxes! (in KC)Anybody else going to Young the Giant tonight at Water Works? Or Fleet Foxes in Omaha Sunday?

I the Uptown a kind of classy looking place? I think I saw a hard rock show there circa ‘04. I was floored why they had such hard bands (more so their crowds) in a place like that. I bet it smelled like pot for a year which was a bigger deal back in those days.The booking here is terrible compared to what it was 6-7 years ago. Mammoth is the largest promoter in the area (they also book a lot in DM and Omaha) and they are terrible. KC lost its AEG guy about 6 years ago and they never really backfilled. The Buzz (alt station) went down the crapper and that confluence, as well as increased competition and other markets having better promoters has put us in tailspin.
KC is getting skipped with reckless abandon for stuff we used to get. Nothing pissed me off more than when Roosevelt booked a big tour, playing 30 cities, and is playing Des Moines and OKC. I've literally flown to Philly, NYC, SD, LA, and Chicago to see him and now that he does this tour Mammoth drops the ball. They are the same idiots who put on the Slipknot fest where they ran out of water.
I wish it was something that was easier to get into as I'd love to do it. Just very political and now Mammoth owns the Madrid and the Uptown.
As for the Truman it's about the only place booking anything of interest. But we deserved a proper club venue built from scratch but they did that one on the cheap. The ceilings arent high enough, the sightlines are lacking, and it's a far cry from what we needed.
I was unaware that was a thing. Might have to hit that Skillet show up.So excited, the new Waukee Live Nations arena is opening in November! 1st show is Skillet with Theory of a Deadman.
