My understanding is the CW deal will not add any money to the ACC schools as these games were previously sold, and the package just has a new rights holder. The ACC advantage is exposure only.

That’s all fine and good, but what dollars do the PAC teams get? Nothing short of $30 million NET is keeping teams from bolting, and that’s probably conservative. It takes two to tango…or something like that.
Correct. They were producing and distributing these games, usually the 5th or 6th best game on their schedule, themselves anyway. This is just putting that same production and expense in more homes.

Yep, GK is playing this about as well as he can g8ven the circumstance. The schools really want to stay. So by dragging this out he will make it so awkward for them to jump by the time the deal is finally announced that they will just suck it up and sign it.
Have to actually give GK credit. May be smarter than we all think. I do believe he knew the entire time they were in deep trouble, so he was going to push out as long as possible to try and force everyone to stay for a shorter deal. Keep sprinkling in BS info like, “Hey here’s a deadline or we are making real progress, etc” because he knows they all want to stick together and are willing to at least see a deal.
The art of BS’ing is not easy at this level and so far he’s kept it rolling for a year. Some of the stuff he touts makes him look stupid but it’s the price he’s willing to pay to force this deal to happen and then when it gets time to do this again he steps down, retires or whatever and gets to say he kept the league together and did his job.

He is just attempting to buy time, he may be able to stop teams from jumping this year, but no school is going to bend over and sign away their GOR for a long period of time if the money is not going to be there in the future or most of their games are being streamed.
Oregon and Washington have to be talking to the B10 in back-channel level discussions about the league's timetable for the next expansion, and using their timetable will never sign away their GOR rights for a extended period of time, if it means that they could have gotten into the B10, but the GOR agreement would not allow them.
He is definitely dragging this by not giving any real #'s and keep dangling food in front of the rest of the conference to delay it further and further since they have no deal to compete with the Big 12. 'We are authorizing discussions to begin negotiating", "Deion at Colorado will benefit our media deal", "We are going to the open market to get a better deal", "Member schools have agreed on a media distribution agreement", "We have a framework of a deal that will be competitive with the SEC and Big Ten" ... and it goes on and on.
What is annoying me is Colorado and Arizona apparently gave 3 or so deadlines that have come and gone but because they don't have any hard numbers to compare against the Big 12, they can't justify leaving. GK knows this and is using it to his advantage. At some point enough has to be enough and CU and/or Colorado just need to leave.
I highly doubt colo and arz will accept any more delays.

I think it is clear that CU and Zona would rather be in the Pac. If not, they would have already made the move.
I'm also thinking the B1G doesn't want UW or UO. The B1G can have whoever they want whenever they want them. So no invite tells me as of now they don't want them. Maybe they want to see how things shake out with the ACC first, or maybe there is never interest there at all.

Not sure why they wouldn’t accept more delays as they have already blown past every arbitrary deadline set. It’s pretty clear they really don’t want to leave so the deal doesn’t have to beat the Big12 it has to come somewhat close.
Any school would bolt for the SEC/Big ten if given the chance for a full or even half share in some instances.
Also no school is signing the new deal on their own. They will wait until all the schools have an agreement so there is minimal concern of a school bolting mid deal. It might just be delaying the inevitable another 6/7 years but doing so would make the commish and the presidents happy.

Well it is less than a year now. So it does make sense for them to bolt after media days if there still isn’t a deal presented. Obviously they don’t want to go to media days after announcing they are leaving without seeing the contract first which they’ve agreed to do from the start.
I’m sure they would love to stay in the PAC-12 as it currently stands with the current deal. I doubt they want to stay that badly in whatever the conference will look like after the numbers come out with SMU and SDSU in place of USC/UCLA.
I agree with this. They must want to stay otherwise they would have left already.
Again this only makes sense if you think there is a new deal. What makes you believe there is a new deal? Any talk of wanting or not wanting to stay can’t happen until there is an actual actionable deal. Which there isn’t.
Yep. Want to leave or not, they need the numbers on both sides to be able to do due diligence on the decision.
Until the GK comes to the table with the deal, there's no decisions to be made.
After Big 12 media days it seems the conference has momentum and vision. They have unity and excitement.
Seems custom made for Colorado and Prime Time to make a big ol' splash.
But a conference with OU and Washington can absolutely be viable in the way our ten team league was.
But only if someone is willing to write the checks.
If the Pac12 can get a better deal then the Big12 then it’s simple, they stay.
If they are getting less, which is the probable outcome, then why stay? Why? Because they want to be in the Pac12.
I want more teams east and west because if makes it a National conference.
