Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Might have something to do with your browser. I can see linked tweets on my phone, but starting a few days ago not on my laptop.
I'll check that out. Thanks. That could be it.

Yeah, it's really weird now. I can't even go to twitter.com to sign up for a new twitter account (it would be my first actually), because it locks me out, wants an "authentication" that I can't pass.

I feel like that frustrated guy who grabs his computer, turns around from his desk, opens his window, and throws his computer out the window! I'm nearly there. LOL

OK, I changed to my backup browser, Edge, and Edge is letting me see the twitter feeds. But it still won't let me sign up for twitter or go to the twitter site, without authentication. So in effect, I'm still blocked largely with Edge also. Edge also has some other issues that I do not like. For example it is generally slower, gets bogged down often with multiple tabs open, etc.

I'll experiment with some other browsers soon. Any suggestions? The browser that is giving me that has me totally locked out with twitter is Brave.

I think Matt Rhule might be the make or break hire for Nebraska. He’s the 6th coach since Osborne and the last two have been terrible. If he doesn’t turn it around then we may see the Huskers’ attendance finally break. Especially when they finally capitulate on the phony sellout streak.

I also think removing divisions will water down Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin. The easy path to the CCG will be gone. It would be like MLB removing divisions and going back to a pennant race.

Nebraska's faithful will not believe they aren't selling out.

I pointed out to a cousin in law last week that Nebraska was broken by Colorado in 2001 and they were never the same since.

He stated that Nebraska was undefeated going into the B12 title game in 2009 and would have been in the national title game if not for weirdness at the end of the game. I pulled out my phone to look it up to correct the narrative (they were 9-3 regular season including the debacle vs. ISU) and he never really came around to it.

UConn won more football games than we did last season with a new coach, Jim Mora Jr. It's not a guarantee that they would be an auto win for us.

I don't know what data anyone would use to support the idea that anyone is an auto win for ISU football.

CMC has beaten, and lost to, every B12 program. .

You said you used your Apple ID to sign into Twitter..... but also said you dont have an account. Technically you have an account... it just uses your Apple credentials for the account. It is no different than signing in with a google ID or Facebook Id etc somewhere. You have an account using your Apple ID as your log in. It links to that ID and uses the information in that ID to set up your Twitter ID, etc.

Sometimes those apps remove the ability to sign into them with other IDs, when that happens you have to create a new password. Sometimes you remove the access to the ID in Apple, Google etc and it locks you out of your account until you either allow access again, or create a separate log in.

But logging into Twitter, with Apple, is having a Twitter account. Just the log in process is slightly different.

It's possible that the problem is still with Twitter, their recent problems.

I have Brave on my PC, which I like, but the twitter links never "embed" on CF such that you can see the content without clicking on the link (one thing I don't like). I am a registered Twitter user, though, and if I click the link now it takes me to Twitter. Even if I wasn't logged in to Twitter, it would take me to that Twitter page.

It wasn't doing that at all at times over a period of a few days -- 4-8 days ago -- which affected everyone, all Twitter users (such that there wasn't a lot of content for days).

I have Safari on my iPhone and it behaves/ed similar to Brave. I use Firefox Focus as a content blocker or "extension" on Safari (though it is also an independent browser).

So for me, Brave and Safari are working as they did prior to the Twitter issues.

I'll post a bit more, but it is possible your problem is currently all on Twitter's end.

Yes, you are right, I think. I have just never had to log in to twitter before, until now, with this lock out issue.

I'll keep working on it, until I figure it out.

Until then, me and @KnappShack are going to partay!

I will work on this tomorrow, or soon, and when I have access to my wife's phone, for confirmation purposes. Thanks.

On the PC I'm currently using Edge and Firefox both, a lot, including with Twitter.

Again, I'm not having any problems now, but it might be because I'm a registered user on Twitter (and I'm logged in). On both, I was using an ad-blocker I liked a lot and had used a long time. I knew it worked; I don't like ads leaking through.

Just recently, however, I switched to a different ad-blocker. Though the behavior I describe wasn't occurring on CF, occasionally I might have to turn it off on a site for a web page to work as expected. Though not technically the ad-blocker I am talking about, this issue came up with respect to another Firefox Extension, Privacy Badger.

Anyway, while looking something up about Privacy Badger, I came across a NY Times article about a different product/content blocker called uBlock Origin -- which they recommended. The article popped up because they talked about Privacy Badger also. It said uBlock Origin works like Privacy Badger (and in the comments I think was some back and forth about what is better). But the article also said uBlock Origin got the job done, but compared to other ad blockers, there were fewer sites where you might have to turn it off in order to get the web page to work/behave correctly.

Again, none of this affected my CF on Edge or Firefox -- where the Twitter links were always embedded and visible (such that I could see them without clicking).

That is, until the problems until the Twitter problems the last 8 days or so.

But since switching to uBlock Origin on Edge and Firefox (where I still also use Privacy Badger), it has worked better than my prior ad blocker--which I liked a lot.

There are fewer sites that I have to switch it off to get the web page to work correctly.

There are features that I like on both Firefox and Edge, so I use both a lot.

Firefox probably offers better protection, but I've used Edge enough to recognize where or when MS might sneak in some setting change I don't want (like I want targeted ads).

CF wouldn't have lasted this long if the vast majority wasn't interested in healthy dialogue rather than yelling and shouting. There is no comparison between CF and Twitter or Facebook.
Yes. And besides, there is no cesspool here. He is a former Notre Dame player and current WR for the Chicago Bears. :)

When you actually dig in the psychology of human behavior, you see that most human behavior still hovers around middle school level. Many people want to think they are so much better and higher than that, but most aren’t. So yes, seeing how middle schoolers react to and with social media, and many other things, will give you a very good idea of how things will transpire since middle schoolers don’t try to disguise their behavior.
I'm an actual psychologist and can assure you human behavior is not at the middle school level. In fact, "middle school level" isn't a term found anywhere throughout the paradigm.
Since CyPri didn't, I will respond...Junior High! Ugh, a ghastly period.

They were truly broken, with hindsight, when UT demanded that the old big 8 eliminate unlimited prop 48 athletes, to join the big12. The rest is history. Circa '96??

Yeah I think the chips started lining up then. They were still dominant into the late 90s and the house of cards got exposed in Boulder. CU had been playing some good ball coming in and they went crazy.

I post this occasionally for anyone's viewing pleasure. It's probably somewhere else in this thread.

It's so glorious.

Your comment made me curious about Campbell's success against other Big12 teams over his 7 seasons.

6 wins: KU
5 wins: TT
4 wins: TCU & WVU
3 wins: UT, KSU & BU
2 wins: OU & OSU

Campbell's overall Big12 record is 32-31. Plus loss to OU in Big12 CG.

21 of 31 losses by 7 points or less in Big12 play. 10 of those losses the last 2 seasons. # of 7 or fewer point losses by school:

5: OSU (every loss)
4: Baylor (every loss)
3: KSU
2: TT, WVU, OU(exc. Big12 CG)
1: KU, TCU, UT
