Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

I really don't understand how after a full year of negotiating, all they supposedly have is a loose framework. The incompetence of the Pac-12 leadership team is truly a sight to behold.

To be fair, I'm guessing they're having to come up with incredibly creative angles to make some sort of package at least swallowable by the schools. Not to mention, they've probably had to start over a few times after talks breaking down.

already moving the goalposts from "deadline for a deal" to "a framework for a deal" which is vague PR BS for "we are still negotiating" which means "we dont have a deal we can sign"

How do we even know they are negotiating? My opinion is they probably have 3 or 4 options at the “take it or leave it” stage. They are acting like a guy that got a DUI and lawyered up…just trying to delay their name in the paper for as long as possible.

Because they don’t want to move and the schools that have a landing spot already have everything worked out for that despite what they say.
Probably true. I'd be shocked if Colorado and Arizona aren't already working to get on board. It will be some random day we aren't expecting it will get announced

this. it appears CU and Arizona are doing the others a solid and not jumping until the last moment to give the PAC a chance to hang together, which is understandable.

Yeah, that stood out to me too. Sounds like they are setting the expectation that this thing won't be signed by media day.

It's gonna be hella entertaining watching GK get grilled.

absolutely. you only ever hear the losing side talking about the negotiations, and ESPN and FOX and everyone else isnt saying ****.

The most recent excuse is up until January they didn’t think UCLA would actually leave, and that this type of negotiation is completely new to Apple so GK has had to hold their hand through the process. Per Canzano.

he's getting canned beforehand and then an empty chair will take all questions from the media.

ESPN just shitcanned the legend Suzy Kolber.

It seems like it'll start showing 20 hours of Ridiculousness with a few games mixed in.

Yormark is a goddam superhero for getting a deal done before the wheels blew off of the worldwide leader

I wonder if we’ll get that info from @Jeremy before his scheduled media day on the subject.
Well, you see, it's coming along well but we're just not at the point we can publicize anything. Let's put a target date out there of say 7/21 and go from there. These things are complicated though so it may slip a bit.
