Away game roll call

That’s too bad. I was able to get cheap flights from Denver on southwest and booked that Marriott property across from the stadium early at 140/night. Way cheaper than coming back to Ames.
DSM to just about anywhere is a little high. Orlando, Phoenix, Vegas aren't crazy. I'm OK w/ what we spent on flights to SLC + hotel + car, just more than I anticipated. We're staying in Orem, probably could have got closer but Priceline gon Priceline... :D

We're going from DSM to SLC for ~$250/person roundtrip, leaving Friday returning Sunday. I thought that was reasonable.

I heard this for years, but I’ve had a few people tell me the last few years they had a blast in Lubbock
Been to Lubbock for the last 3/4 games at Jones AT&T and their fans are fine. The scene in Lubbock is pretty on par with Stillwater or Manhattan.

Planning on going to the Cincy game this year for no other reason than checking off the box. Really hoping to make a trip back to Folsom soon tho.

Got a cheap flight to Provo Thursday night on allegiant. Is Provo manageable without a rental car? Anybody know the transit situation? If I got a hotel near the stadium would there be things to do walking?
I would absolutely recommend getting a rental car, especially if you want to do anything up on the mountains. Public transit is available, but limited. Although you can take the Frontrunner train up to Salt Lake City, which is going to have much more of a bar/brewery scene. It's basically non-existent in Provo. Most of my friends coming for the game, I am recommending they stay in SLC since I know they are going to want to go out on the town.

I'll be at the UC game. The stadium is in the middle of campus, which is pretty cool. They also serve great local Cincinnati beers at the stadium; Rhinegeist, MadTree, 50 West and more - Cincy is a great beer town.

Trying to convince my wife to go to Provo. Her high school bestie lives just under 4 hours away in Grand Junction so I'm trying that angle but not sure it's working yet.

I looked around Google Earth for Provo, and it doesn't seem like there's much to do in city limits, but if you had a rental car there would be some amazing hiking very close to you. It would be a cool road trip, but one that I don't think you could much entertainment if only relying on your feet and Uber to get to destinations.

I don't know about your situation, but I'm glad the amount of convincing I have to do for my Cyclone wife is just saying "Hey, let's go to ____ game this year"

Yeah, I wish it were that easy. We aren't huge travelers and have never attended a road ISU game so this would be the first. If our son was a little older it would probably be almost a no brainer I think, but traveling across the country with a 3-year old has quite a few more cons than pros. As far as visiting her friend goes, she liked that idea but isn't the type to just spring in on someone or invite herself over. I might just have to buy the tickets without getting permission.

SLC to Vegas is a cheap flight and really fast. Driving would be tough but I would guess the majority of fans are planning on flying.
If you head south after the game (whatever time). It’s about 3 hours to Cedar City or 3.5 to St. George. Both have quite a few hotels but get busy so book early.

If you Uber from the Provo airport and hang around the campus, it would be ok. But otherwise you would want a car. Especially if you wanted to do any outdoor activities.
