Also, Ford and GM are going to start using the Tesla chargers with their future EV's, which is a huge deal for the whole industry.

Big news for Tesla too because they probably get a cut. Good job by them.

Looks like I need to check out some other companies.

Off topic question. I've had my credit frozen for a number of years. Do you think that impacts me when a new vehicle gets added to my current insurance?
I'm pretty sure credit checks for insurance is a "soft" check and not a "hard" check - not sure if credit freezes prevent both or just "hard" checks.

It doesn't. Most carriers only pull credit once every 3 or 5 years and it's a soft pull so a freeze doesn't matter in 95% of cases. If you have really ****** credit and it's frozen, then you're in a tough place but otherwise there aren't any issues.

I ordered a Jeep Wrangler 4xe in February and got it 2 weeks ago. So far, love it. Really debated and wanted a full EV instead of a plug-in hybrid but after renting several Tesla's through Hertz while traveling for work (range anxiety is very real), very happy I went this route. So far I've driven 130 miles and 125 of those miles has been on battery.

I think these are the true bridge vehicles between ICE and EV.

What's been your all electric range so far? I'm intrigued by the PHEV as it would make a lot of sesne for most of my running around.

I typically get 24-26 all electric miles in mine. Winter is worse for certain regions of course, I’m in pnw so no extreme cold.

Whenever I can get my hands on a two door as I only drive Coupes.

My girlfriend ordered an electric Mercedes Benz SUV, but it has taken forever to get built and shipped to the US. We'll see when she gets it.

NPR interviewed the CEO of GM at an all electric manufacturing plant. He noticed that in the parking lot, the only employee who actually had an electric vehicle parked there was the CEO. Doesn’t give you much comfort.

25-28 miles. Have a 19 mile round trip commute so perfect for me.

Almost all PHEV that I looked at where 20-30.

I bought a used Honda clarity 2018 and it gets 40-45 electric range. I think the new Prius prime will get there but the 2018-2020 models were like 25

The clarity is a really nice vehicle but they stopped making them in 2021. I’m really enjoying it as a bridge to full electric

The auto makers definitely need to get some lower priced models out. It doesn't help that the American working/middle class has been convinced we need to drive tanks since the late 90s.

There's a world of difference for states with low, mid and high gas prices. I don't blame budget concious Iowans for laughing off an EV currently. If they had $5.50 normal price gas they'd be sprinting towards it like California regardless of their environmental views.

We also need to realize that a lot of our ICE cars are already ridiculously expensive and we've just grown to accept it. The cost of owning a Chevy Tahoe is much more expensive than the vast majority of EVs and nobody thinks of Chevy brand and Tahoe model as an elitist luxury thing.

I would call up and ask that, I probably get some discounts because I have all my policies with them including 5 cars.

I called them and if I move my home owners to them, they'll be happy to raise my premium from $1,100 to $1,800. What a deal!

I just got a concerning email from the tesla advisor. It sounds like they are pushing hard to get these out of the door by the end of the month. Telling me I need to go to KC to pick up the car and pay for it by the 21st even though the car won't even be there.
