I've heard of people doing that. I've always bought my previous vehicles based on the vehicle itself and not the CEO and I stuck with that model for this purchase.

I just paid my ModelY insurance, it was $475 for 6 months from state farm. My Subaru before was $350, but it was worth $20k less.

I ordered a Jeep Wrangler 4xe in February and got it 2 weeks ago. So far, love it. Really debated and wanted a full EV instead of a plug-in hybrid but after renting several Tesla's through Hertz while traveling for work (range anxiety is very real), very happy I went this route. So far I've driven 130 miles and 125 of those miles has been on battery.

Why on earth Ford decided to call their EV SUV a Mustang is beyond me. It's just does not resemble a Mustang in any way that I can discern.

Last year I was considering a Mustang EV but the price going down on the model Y as well as the $7,500 goes a long way. The mustang I would have bought would cost at least $10k more. If the pricing was opposite, I would have probably bought the mustang.
JFC insurance rates are high in my area. I'd kill for that. I'm 3x or 4x that for best I can find.
My plates are maybe $100 a year more with plug in hybrid than comparable ICE vehicle and I do worry about that difference increasing more and more to make up for gas tax. I probably use 80% less gas just with my limited PHEV range.
Tesla was smart to start their whole thing with the exotic sports care and work down to other models. Dispelled the ridiculous myth that EVs are weak or nerdy.
EV mustang or EV corvette should be a symbolic high end thing and then make the real volume sales with other models.

I would file that under the cost of doing business IMO. Do other industries get taxpayer assistance for remediation and cleanup?
This is a really silly way to justify continuing to decimate the planet. Incremental progress is the ONLY way we are going to make progress as there is not a single, silver bullet to fix all of the damage we have done and continue to do.

I'm getting super close to pulling the trigger on a Model 3. That tax credit is super enticing and my average daily driving fits easily into the range. Getting close to handing off my current Escape Hybrid to the kid anyway so I'd have the distance vehicle.
They are refreshing model 3 soon. I might wait until that but they may raise the price for the refresh.
I got a Mach E GT last year and a Model Y after the price dropped earlier this year. I find the Mach E to be the far superior car but you’re right about the price. The only reason I got the Model Y was because it’s so much cheaper now.
