Our success as of late has obviously been very recent....I'd love for CMC to be our Snyder
I always feel old when somebody mentions our dumpster years and then I remember it was only like 10 years ago, lol.
That was a short-term dumpster. The dumpster from the 80's and 90's just wouldn't end.
Tough to dig out of that 1990s hole, when ISU had more wins in the entire decade ('90-'99) than just two other FBS teams.

I grew up in the 80's and 90's. It was a rough childhood. But the excitement of a Pete Taylor call could make your day.
I thought this might be our ranking of all ISU's seasons in past 40 years.

Especially when you might only get 2 or 3 per game -- and those might be on field goals...or first downs.
If you mean ranking each season of ISU against the field, yeah that would be an undertaking. If you mean ranking ISU's seasons against the other 39 seasons in the timeline, that is in there.
It's weird, but mid 80's is significant improvement from 10 years ago. Give us 5 more years and hopefully we're in the 70s. Keep the march up the charts going.

Oh I fully agree. I'm "only" 41 so the 80s were before my time going to games, but went a lot starting around 92 or 93 with my dad. I remember those days all too well. The highlight of the game was the helmet mobile 9 times out of 10.

I haven’t looked but are there what, 3 maybe 4 power five schools below ISU? Maybe Kansas, Vanderbilt, Rutgers. Anyone else?
You know it's a spotty history when a 2-7-2 season (1984) ranks higher than almost 25% of the available options, and more than one-third of top 20 are below .500.
