2023-2024 Recruits & Transfers

97 is loaded anyways. Yonger just might even have an easier path to AA at HWT than 97.

more points at nationals, save some $ vs. trying to bring in transfer. not bad.

wonder what schon walks around at weight wise?
He is going to be tiny at heavyweight. I am not going to expect much out of him at that weight. It leaves us a pretty gaping hole at 197. Would the staff roll Hagerty out there next year?

Idk, Yonger did beat Fernandez from Cornell who was a R12 guy at hwt when Yonger was down at 197. Give him an off-season to bulk up and see his energy difference when he doesn’t have to worry about cutting weight and he’ll be fine

Yonger on full feed I'd have to imagine will be ~240+ at HWT. That's on the small end, but lots of successful wrestlers around that size who are not as talented as he is. I'd feel pretty good about it and probably will help the gas tank situation. Now I'd imagine bottom will still be a major issue.

If Hagarty is healthy it may not be the worst thing to run him out there, but I know he was banged up pretty good at the state tournament. But with Bartelt coming for 197 and Naak at 184, next year or two may be Hagarty's best shot of being in the lineup. Naak isn't going to be big enough for 197 IMO, at least right out of the gates.

Yonger will be a very quick heavy which will make up for some the size difference
It’s gonna be fun to watch. The matches against the top guys will be interesting to how he does. I’d bet he holds his own. But his speed and athleticism against lesser heavy’s? Holy balls, he’s going to murder them.

I think Naak looks like career 184

Yeah I am thinking Nando but would like it if Schon could make it. Hagarty hurt at state so thats doubtful.

Hole is only going to matter in a few duals. Time to focus on points at nationals.

Yonger will likely struggle against the top end BIG HWTS. Schultz, Cass, Hendrickson but could pound the rest.

Angelo Ferrari narrows his list to Rutgers, VA Tech and the TOE
When I saw the list of 3, the final 3 were an easy guess. All 3 make sense. Honestly don’t know where he ends up. Iowa has gabe Arnold at 174 so he’d have to be a 184 not sure he’s that big

Who is Nando? I know. Which of our big guys switched to football recently?
