Work and Back Home Trip

You live in Ames right?

For traffic avoid Duff Ave if you've never been anywhere else in your life.

I'm making big plans for a daily trip to work and then back home.
Right now, the plan is to keep it cheap and just use my car. Anyone else made this trip and have some ideas? TIA
I suggest just burning down Ames Main Street after work, then heading to Ankeny for breadsticks and salad at Olive Garden, followed by a slice of pizza at any one of that charming hamlet’s 143 fine Casey’s.

Husband usually has to make a pit stop in the bathroom between the bedroom and one of the other bedrooms that has become the home office. Gets to see wildlife out the window at the bird feeder and in the office with the crazy dog. Restaurant of choice is called “can of nuts in the pantry,” although occasionally dines at “if I hold the refrigerator door open while I sneak out the leftover cheesecake it doesn’t really count does it?”

Cheesecake Factory cheesecake?

I have not made the trip to your work and then back to your home. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I grew up on the Jello no baked.

Will be on vacation for Mom's Day. Already ordered her a Juniors to ship to her house.
I did the Jello no bake when I had less time. It works for me but I feel compelled to save up for the Cheesecake Factory trip now after our vacation to downtown Ames is paid off.

You would think with the word Factory in the name, it wouldn’t be so pricey.

Mix up your rides to make it fun is one idea. For instance, I drove a New Holland with a chisel plow from home to work last couple weeks. This week my other New Holland pulling a planter. This fall I think I am going to get crazy and drive the combine. I am not sure of your definition of cheap so suggest you buy these types of transportation used if you go this route.

This is also in my plans for the foreseeable future. I'm so glad you started a thread.
