On That Note: The Trees

Speaking of kids music, if you haven't listened to any Sandra Boynton's albums you really are missing out.

From Dog Train
(Don't give me that) Broccoli

You always try to tell me
That it’s good for me,
If I want to grow up
Big and strong.
But how can I eat something
That looks just like a tree?
That can’t be right.
It has got to be wrong

Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round The Ole Oak Tree - Tony Orlando and Dawn

Whoa, tie a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree
It's been three long years, do you still want me?
If I don't see a ribbon round the ole oak tree
I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon 'round the ole oak tree

A hot and windy August afternoon
Has the trees in constant motion
With a flash of silver leaves
As they're rocking in the breeze...

Night Moves lyrics: "...Out past the cornfields where the woods got heavy..."

I thought I didn't care much for country but I accidently started this Tennessee Bird Walk song and it's quirkiness appeals to my current mood and this topic. Lyrics: "...Take away the trees and the birds will have to sit on the ground."

(December) You're the present 'neath my Christmas tree

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me
A partridge in a pear tree

Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffanys

Time for a little jazz...two great versions of Woody's classic hit WoodChopper's Ball from his 1960's bands, about five year apart.

What prefer you?
upright bass vs. electric bass
double-breasted suits and ties vs. dashikis and ascots
open trombone solo vs. muted trombone solo

Really nice short solo work by all in both versions.

I've not hear that or them, so thank you for sharing!
A few of the many other Wylde Nept songs that fit the theme for you:

Harvest time turns the trees to rust and my travels bring me to town
The smell of raw blows up from the fields and the sounds of music rolls down

We hide in shadows and hide behind trees.
We prove that there is no honor among thieves

A barrel of malt, a bushel of hops; stir it around with a stick.
The kind of lubrication to make your engine tick.
