Yeah, maybe more will come out later but the evidence doesn't seem strong here based on first look. They better have more given the damage caused.

Do some people think that they are the one that won't get caught? How many stories have we seen like this? This literally changes your life forever and not for the better!
If they take this to trial with weak evidence and the teacher is found not guilty, she may end up never having to work another day in her life - compliments of the Catholic church.
Well until the student finds out Dowling will pay him a hefty sum of money if he sues. Then it's over for her. Looks like she has kids and family on her Facebook page, Of course I creeped on it. She is always asking for prayers and stuff for other stuff. So yeah.
Plenty don't get caught. There are all kinds of stories of students who end up with their teachers not long after graduation, and you'd have to be naive to think something wasn't going on before
The communications were described as "personal and flirtatious in nature". That leaves a lot to interpretation.
If she doesn't work again it's compliments of her bad judgement.
The Catholic Church isn't the entity pressing charges. Seems like the police and district attorney feel there is enough evidence.
What would you rather have happened, Dowling Catholic sweep the issue under the table? We have seen how that has worked out.
Absolutely she should be fired for that. The question becomes if it meets the standard to be charged with a crime. I don't think the evidence is necessarily there for that based on the story, though more could certainly come out to change that.

Fired? Absolutely. Criminally prosecuted though? The article is kind of purposefully vague so who knows what's in the messages. But when you use words like "flirty" and "innuendo" you're treading on pretty weak criminal ground.

Yeah being fired and being charged with a crime are different things. It's pretty clear something inappropriate was happening which should result in the teacher getting fired. What's not clear is how inappropriate it was and if it rises to the level of being a crime.
