I don't remember any Custer hate. It was more, "Oh, hey, that guy, I kind of remember him!"

Hunter in Volunteer orange making a deep run is probably more a, "Sigh, could have been us, stupid NIL."

But all things burnt orange can and should make any Cyclone's blood boil at this point.
Again, we had fans boo JCL but cheered for Enaruna (and wondered why TJ would pull him out of games), when they basically swapped teams.

All situations different, JCL wasn't treated too badly on his return (nothing in comparison to Hunter) and can't blame a guy who lost his coach and went 0-18 with one year left.
I'm sure years ago I was pissed when Wes Johnson transferred. The older I get the more I just try not to hold a grudge about it.
The portal has brought us back from the dead multiple times.

If fans on here didn't forget about Clayton Custer going to Loyola when they made a postseason run, they aren't going to forget about Tyrese no matter where he went.

Most, if not all, Iowa State fans were happy for Clayton Custer. Totally understandable that he didn't want to sit behind one of the best point guards in college basketball for two more years. I also don't think he would of ever been as successful had he not transferred down a level. He was 3rd team All-MVC as a senior. It wasn't like he was AJ Green.

That was pretty half-hearted or even playful compared to the seething fury over Hunter.

I have/had no issues with cheering him on, I'm saying he wasn't "forgotten."

I think you're being kind of literal about "forgotten" when it is meant as slight hyperbole.

Hunter playing for Tennessee is not forgotten in the sense we literally don't remember his name and the big game he had against Wisconsin in the NCAA tournament. He'd be "forgotten" in the sense he's playing for another team in another conference and we're not likely to see him on the court against the Cyclones and and we don't care what happens in the SEC so all jolly well and good we should move on.

Again, it's the burnt orange that's pissing us off. Or I know it does me.

Yeah but still ironic to do it to JCL when we had Enaruna.

I don't know if I can help you if you don't see the categorical difference between some good-natured ribbing of a former player over a silly, short-lived, and half-hearted "traitor" chant over a rotational player who left for understandable, basketball-related reasons and, again, the volcanic atmosphere and violent game (and go watch it again, it was rough) on the court that took place when Hunter returned to Hilton.

I see a difference. I'm saying for ISU there's irony in booing JCL and cheering Enaruna.
Can you understand that?

I still think it's odd so many people post what Tyrese "said" yet just don't put a direct quote on here. Or that someone thinks there's posters on here that "love him."
I get disliking him for choosing TX (and your opinion), but that given reason has been much less stated than the "what he said" IMO.

That's got to be one of the bigger turnarounds for a player to go from that bad to national title winner.
