I love bill as our coach!!!!!

Gee…this is an oldie and completely unfounded comment. I.E. look at what happened during the lawsuit a couple of years ago. All those players that “hate“ him sure came out in droves.
You mean the players that his DIL texted/called to support him? I personally know players that refuse to come back to the gatherings until he is gone.

BF's style is not for everyone. This happens not only at ISU but also at other programs. Also at professional sports.

Anyone who follows soccer must be familiar with David Beckham. Sir Alex Ferguson literally sold Beckham because he thought Beckham wasn't dedicated anymore after marrying his wife. Beckham ended up playing for 10 more years at the highest level, while Ferguson winning his 2nd European Cup and multiple titles.

So it's normal to have players hate the coach. Some of it is personality fit. I wouldn't put everything on Bill because we don't know what happen. Love hate relationship between coaches and players is normal.

Fair. But at this point in time after all these years. It seems excessively normal.

Time to digress. I grew up in QC and now live in Davenport. My parents knew a few of the Fennellys . Just curious about his dad's name and what part of town Bill grew up in. I recall Tom, Jean Marie, and Mary , but it is a pretty common name in the area.

The bottom line of it is this. No one here knows what’s happening or why. There has been ONE unexpected transfer so far. Could be more and the thing is WE DON'T KNOW or WHY.

Others have wisely posted what college athletics is like. Coaches are tough. Some players don’t end up liking the coach. Big whoop. I didn’t like my college wrestling coach at the time, but I still show up every year for the alumni meet and treat him with respect. To me it’s about the university and players, not the individual when it comes to reunions.

But, boards are designed for open discussion and that’s what is happening.

To be fair, it is easier to transfer the last few years because you don’t have to sit out anymore. I don’t think it’s fair to blame BF on the transfers and I am not BF apologist. I am frustrated with the constant issues the team had but there are a lot of things we don’t know.

I think this is the only transfer that I regret. The past few seasons including recently I would say we haven’t had big issues with transfers (mostly the players we recruited didn’t pan out)

After 2022 season
Aubrey Jones: more PT 15.3 MPG - 6.1 PPG, 3.3 RPG with the Sooners
Fred: done with school. Squad player at best.

After 2020 - 2021 season
Maddie Wise: family reason and grad program
KF: we don’t know how big a loss she is because of her injury situation.

After 2019-20 seasob
Lauren Mills - now with division 2 Shippenburg. Not D1 level
Gabby McBride - project - transferred to Panola College, now at Western Kentucky
Lindsey Jarosinski: retired

After 2018 - 2019 season
None

After 2017-18 season
Bride-Kennedy Hopoate - not D1 material. Now with Lobos

After 2016-17:
TeeTee Starks : playing style - to Arizona
Sofia Zivaljevic - not Big 1 l2 material. To NDSU

I am not sure about Maggie Vick. The jury is out.
Kane is a solid contributor but she is definitely not what you call a starter.
MEM - might be a good contributor but not sure whether the ship has sailed for her.

Do coaches comment on players entering the portal or do they remain silent?

Normal? No. Tolerated traditionally? Yes.
