I'm a big fan of the quad seats for the 2nd row. Seems easier to access the 3rd row that way rather than the 2nd row bench seat.
We have SUVs. I always said we wouldn't be a 2 SUV family but after driving around in Minnesota winters I find there are always days I'm glad for the 4WD and extra ground clearance - even in the metro. So we became a 2 SUV family. When daughter started driving we became a 3 SUV family so at least we aren't a 2 SUV family.
That's not a door, that is a weapon of mass destruction that is just biding its time until it can suddenly fail - probably on some ridiculously cold winter day - and drop on your head when you are holding a dozen bags of groceries.

Yeah, wife's has two individual seats in the second row while mine has a bench. But since we don't have the monster sized ones her's seats 6 and mine seats 7. My next purchase will be a smaller one since daughter will soon be off to college and son won't be that far behind. I have debated just getting a sedan though, but probably still AWD.
So since you have one of each- quad seats and bench- do you prefer one over the other?
Four 10's? I kid... will make childcare for the parents who need it interesting.
I prefer the bench seat when I have to transport 7 people. I prefer the quad seats when I have to transport fewer people. It is the latter about 98.5% of the time. The quad seats also make it easier for the kids to reach into the back for any of the ungodly amount of stuff they bring when we go on any trip outside the metro.
I guess you could say the quad seats make an SUV as close as you can get to a mini-van without the low entrance height and the sliding door.
We are talking about SUVs so I immediately start getting ads for Friendly Chevrolet with a big SUV featured in the photo...

I've tried talking my wife into a conversion van with a Quigley 4x4 upfit but she thinks that is a bit excessiveWe have SUVs. My wife hated larger SUVs. Then she drove a suburban, had one ever since. Although, with one kid out of the house and another close, the current one is the last one.
I have loved my Passport thus far. Not much smaller than the Pilot but without the third row is really the only differences. Much more trunk space due to that.
Jump up to the full Suburban that'll put her in the baby making mood lots of space to fill up in one of those bad boys.
