And I don't think a play like that just happens. WV's style of play, Huggieball, where they are constantly aggressive and going over the line when it comes to defense and fouling, plus Huggins and his players whining, set a tone, in that game and many others, against WV. It didn't help that the refs often don't call the fouls they should in Morgantown, against the home team.Legend-tier play by Hogue. Even got it past the refs in real time.
I think we've traded some open perimeter looks for completely walling off the paint. We were pretty good (top 20) in limiting paint points last year, but we've been #1 all year this year.No idea how you chart it or define it but I wonder if Brock and Hunter were better in covering/close outs etc. overall to disrupt the perimeter.
After watching the replay, I may be ready to start calling him the next Ejim. Really tough player. Doesn't back down from any one. I'll take a Rahshon Clark/Melvinator hybrid if you don't mind TJ.What happens next is that Watson blocks perimeter shots on two straight Baylor possessions - it was a big spark
lol, excellent.Using all those numbers I'm not sure that you realize that we aren't all nerdy engineers. Some of us are other kinds of nerds.

the adjustment from offenses in this league to the no middle D is a big key. they know how to get open looks after a season plus of half the teams in this league playing a variation of this D.I think we've traded some open perimeter looks for completely walling off the paint. I'm not sure if that is intentional or a by-product of the personnel, but it is a difference
It would have been appropriate if he would have retired with Coach K. I guess retiring with Boeheim is appropriate too. I actually don't mind Vitale but his infatuation with those two has always been odd.im getting pretty tired of the dickie v farewell tour. he seems to just jump from blue blood to blue blood this season because 'he wants to call one more KU game'.
just retire already.
Almost by definition, any segment involving Kansas basketball should be inconsequential in subject matter, brief in duration, flaccid in nature and unsatisfying as an experience. So are we going to have to watch a long segment about his mom again?

Great, so that's why my wife is convinced I'm from Kansas. Mystery finally solved.Almost by definition, any segment involving Kansas basketball should be inconsequential in subject matter, brief in duration, flaccid in nature and unsatisfying as an experience.

So, game thoughts? Like most of us, I have probably seen KU play second most behind ISU. My two thoughts:
(1) Game will likely be decided by GDick/Harris. Wilson will get his, no stopping him. But when GDick/Harris play great, KU rolls like they did yesterday v WVU. But I have also seen several KU games that GDick really struggles, both with his shot and turnovers. We need that version of GDick.
(2) I am a little concerned about pace. I don't think another game in the 70's will bode well for us. Would like to see a nice 68-63 win.
LFG!!!
