*** Official IOWA STATE vs #3 Kansas Game(Day) Thread ***

Give me a not very deep KU without Bill Self and a limited McCullar any day of the week. We match up well with these guys.

I think Self is a great coach, however, there has always been black cloud floating around their program with allegations and stress could lead to health problems. I sure hope he makes a full recovery.

replay of the game from yesterday. just gonna fast forward until the ISU TO at 16:31 of the 2nd half. Baylor up 50-42. Bridges still hasn't missed and has made 3 3s in the first 3 minutes of the 2nd half. lets see what happens next.

So, who has a career night against us? Won't do any good, we winning dis game! These guys have a swagger about them now, and I like it.

Play Everybody!

The identity of the program is to play tough and grind out wins no matter how it happens but it seems they restructured the identity of this specific group to literally just be 'all in' after a drastic change.

It's incredible.

He is a good coach when it comes to Xs and Os, but I maintain that it is a lot easier to be a good coach when a shoe company bought numerous 5-stars for you over the years. I throw up in my mouth every time I hear a talking head singing his praises. In my book, he has the stench of a million turds on him. And you're right -- lying about cheating probably does cause a great deal of stress.

Interesting comparison from this year to last year:

Last year we were GREAT at limiting 3pt shooting from our opponents
- there were only 4 games we gave up > 8 3s; and none we gave up more than 10.
- we lost all 4 games where we gave up > 8 threes
- on the season opponents shot 28.9% from 3 (11th nationally) and 5.6 3FG made per game

This year we haven't been as good on 3s - although defensively we've been better
- there have been 11 games in which we gave up > 8 3s; and 6 where they made more than 10
- We've gone 5-6 in games giving up > 8 threes - including 3-3 when giving up 12+
- on the season opponents have shot 33.9% from 3 and 7.7 3FGM per game

What happens next is that Watson blocks perimeter shots on two straight Baylor possessions - it was a big spark

No idea how you chart it or define it but I wonder if Brock and Hunter were better in covering/close outs etc. overall to disrupt the perimeter.
