Rotations

Looking ahead if all that can come back do.

PG: TL, Williams
SG: E. King, Fish, Hamilton
SF: Momcilovic, Watson
PF: T. King, Biliew
C: Jones, Ward

Pretty obvious we'll be in the market for a big and probably a SG.
I don’t think King is a true SG either. Obviously a big SG transfer would be a game changer but it’s hard to imagine if ISU rolls with a combo guard at the 2 that it would be King over Williams.

The 3-5 will also be interesting. Milan will stretch the floor more but Omaha can score a variety of ways and gives incredible defensive flexibility. Starting Williams at the 2 and Omaha at the 4 probably gives enough length and flexibility to play Tre at the 5 a lot.

I also think the post season meeting with Watson goes something like shoot threes until you can’t stand it then shoot some more. If he can knock down threes he’s going to start and play huge minutes.

Normally as we approach March, teams start to widdle down to 7/8 main rotations. Given our inability to score consistently, and the importance put on our defensive intensity, do you think we should stick with playing everyone and subbing frequently like we did against Baylor? Keeps us higher energy and maybe gives us some relief from foul trouble?

Ward and E. King didn't hurt ISU at all IMO. No reason they shouldn't get 5 minutes a game.

Might depend on who they get at SG but I don't see a scenario where TL doesn't start. Also think Williams could be Gabe level defender. I think they both start next season.

Agree, I think the most likely scenario is TL and Williams are the starters in the backcourt and try to get shooting from the other wing and 4.

To follow up with my thought, who is our leader for next year? With returning players, it is always best if it is one of them. We got Lipsy, Tre, Watson who have seen decent time, Williams has been injured but with the team. The others don't seem to be in the position to take it. I'm guessing Tamin or Williams will need to be that guy to lead.

Right now I would say Lipsey. He's been really solid for a freshman.

I hope we are not bringing a McDonald's All American in to play part time or he will be gone for sure after next year. If Jones and Ward are all we have for big guys, look for Biliew to play inside and King to play power forward. After 2 straight trips to the Big Dance we better be able to recruit over Jones.
