2022-2023 MBB computer projections thread

They have an unusually high number of quad 1 wins for someone with that bad of a net ranking.

Seems like every time they could get that one win to put them in they lose.

Hopefully ISU sees someone else. ISU could beat them but I don't want to hear from Bucky fans.

The only team that can’t be placed in DM is whoever the host is. ISU hosted it the first year so DM could land it. We were ineligible that year, but I thought Drake did after that. Not sure who has it this year.
So when people say we have no chance of getting DM, my question is asked again....can only local teams of the state only get seeds of 1-4 there, versus still getting put there as a 5,6,or 7?

I hope we avoid playing Pitt.
I just know Hinson would go off against us.
He's had a monster year.....still wonder what happened there. I mean, he didn't leave cuz Prohm exit, it was like right before the season started after his sit out year.

Anything is possible, but seeds 1-4 get preferential treatment in regards to location. They definitely would not allow us to play in Des Moines as a high seed playing a lower seed. Seeds 5-7 is where things get iffy.

It used to be that local teams not seeded 1-4 would not be placed close so that the 1-4s would not play a team that is closer than them and have a crowd advantage. Have heard that it is still a thing and have heard that it is followed as much, so basically I don't know.

Drake is the host and cannot play in DM. KU will get DM for sure, regardless of Big 12 tourney play. We have slim to no chance of getting DM. Only shot is winning Big 12 and that is likely not enough, but might depend on other dominoes. KSU and Marquette are the front runners for the other high DM seed.
Just to be clear...then Iowa can't get placed there either, correct?? (would tick me off)

Does Drake just replace Bradley as the 12 if they win today? I know the committee says they never do it, but there seem to be "coincidental" match-ups every yeay and I could see ISU vs Drake as one of those. Not sure how I'd feel about that match-up.

so how big is either of those rankings...used alot by committee or just nice to knows??
The committee is given team sheets with rankings from NET, KenPom, Sagarin, Strength of Record, and KPI. Supposedly, NET is given the most weight by most members.

Big move up in NET.
If ISU wins the Thursday game they could be looking at a 5 seed again if things fall into place

From the way it sounds. When they meet, by friday/saturday timeframe, they have the teams seedings basically 95% ironed out. They just wait to see if there are an autos that may slip in and if a team can pop up a notch or two due to conference tourney performance. Sunday is just a little movement and final location placements.
