*** Official IOWA STATE vs #7 Baylor Game(Day) Thread ***

My heart literally can't take watching games on TV, so I usually tune everything out and will check Twitter an hour and 45 minutes after tipoff. LOL, we were up 15 with a little over 4 minutes left and I still didn't feel like it was a safe enough lead for me to watch in real time. Haha, great win fellas!
I tuned in half way through the first half, saw ISU was up 11 and turned it off. I tuned in the second half to watch a 10-0 run by the Bears and turned it off again. Turned it back on with 5 minutes left and watched the rest. It looked like they had everything in control by then. Great win. Too bad they did have a few more games in Feb like this one.

WTH was that? We have not seen that good of defense and shooting for a month and a half. Not that it was great shooting, but it has been so bad lately, even decent shooting is a vast improvement. Happy for the players and the coaches. It's been a rough stretch and a really rough week for those guys.
****, that was pretty damn good shooting in my book. 54% from the floor, 36% from 3, 19 assists on 26 baskets. 9 different guys scored. I'll take that any day of the week.

Can somebody tell me if we consistently played a big lineup in the other game against Baylor? Cause this seemed to work much better, as opposed to playing a lot of 3 guard lineup in our recent games, with Kunc as the small power forward and Shoon/Rob at center.

Or am I simply fooled cause it happened to work this time?

Today was just fun to watch. Helped having no expectations of winning. I posted in the OU game at half that even though we were up it didn’t seem like anyone on the team was having fun.

Most top 10 wins.
Most top 25 wins.
Probably the most losses to the bottom of the league too. This team could have been something special if the Temple transfer hadn't got hurt and the Green kid would have come. Shooting guards can change the whole dynamic of a team. Still, for what TJ had, it was an amazing season.

Yes, better than I thought, but certainly not shooting out of their minds like some teams have done to ISU.

A distraction might have been removed. And the team responded in a huge way. But I do wish we would avoid turning this into a Caleb vs. the team thing. He was there for plenty of huge wins. And the team sucked plenty when he wasn't playing.
And that might be a better way to characterize it. So point taken. I was just playing off of the announcers language.

Baylor isn't good inside. We match up well with them with Kalscheur and Lipsey defending on the perimeter.

This game shows why Caleb should have been in street clothes recovering the last 3 weeks. Proud of the boys for being tough and together. Best wishes to Caleb on starting his road to recovery.

Unpopular opinion: I don't care if these guys lose on Thursday in Kansas City, whoever we play. I think they would benefit more from extra rest going into the NCAAs than some other ISU teams of the past.

I think winning is important. But it is not as important as it would have been with a loss.
