Adding Sports?

Feels like LaCrosse is gaining traction across the country. Might be able to get a head start amongst Midwest teams.
Not enough cloth on the uniforms for both a logo and sponsorships.
Iowa State is the only school in the Big 12 without baseball. Pretty pathetic IMO.
Agree. More in state students. What high schools in Iowa have rowing or lacrosse?

Your premise is bogus. There is a big difference between being able to be competitive in the big 10, a conference where teams are all generally northern and playing with the same geographic disadvantages, and being the northern outpost in a sport dominated by the south. I mean just look at the track record of the big 10 for even appearing at the CWS.
No one attended it here and being competitive would have required major spending from donors that don't exist, and even if those donors existed we would be better off directing that money at FB/bball where revenue is created

Why would the AD add sports that no one would attend? If they anre dead set on ading sports, I would say add women’s wrestling and men’s hockey I suppose. The facilities are at least already there for that situation.
Do you honestly think this would be attended? I don’t. In case you forgot, spring here is usually miserable.
What benefit would this be to ISU?
It's been a few years, but last time I checked, ISU's Title IX situation was balanced enough that no women's sport would have to be added to balance out baseball. It's strictly the cost of baseball itself.
Unfortunately they wear what in-door volleyball players wear. Not bikinis like in the olympics.
In spring 2023, ISU is 54.3% male and 45.7% female. For the sports ISU offers, the Div I limits are 125 scholarships in men's sports and 111 scholarships in women's sports, so men's sports are 53.0% of the total scholarships. If you add baseball, men's scholarships become 55.2% of the total, which is slightly higher than the student body percentage. So it could possibly be an issue to add baseball and not anything else.
Add both men's and women's hockey. That's what Penn St. did back in 2012. Though they had the benefit of a billionaire donor in Terry Pegula (owner of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres) who funded moving both programs to D1 and building a brand new hockey facility on campus.
