Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Apparently Wilner said he thinks high 20s, majority streaming still keeps the PAC 12 together on Utah radio tonight. Says he’s been skeptical all along that they’d ever get to a number that matches the Big 12, given they aren’t even matching us now.

Said he imagines it’s got to be more than a couple million dollar difference per to make the jump worthwhile for schools to jump (alluding to travel costs offsetting the surplus there to a degree).

Awww, is Wilner getting a little humbled now?

I’ve lost respect for Wilner. Pre-realignment, I figured he was really plugged in for west coast news, so I leaned on him for that stuff. I enjoyed the podcast he had with CW last year.

I know he’s got a job to do and this conference shift impacts his livelihood. But he’s been in the PAC spin zone along with Canzano, Mandel, etc. I can’t help but put grains of salt on everything I see from him now.

Washington versus Stanford in between re-runs of Hawaii 5-0

I was just going to link the Wikipedia page. But to quote the quality of their station.

he network adopted its identity as Ion Television on January 29, 2007, and airs programming in daily binge blocks of one program, usually acquired procedural dramas. The network also carries some holiday specials and films before Christmas.

So they don't have any original programming.

That is why you don't add anymore for G5 teams... FSU, Clemson, UNC, UVA, Miami... They see the writing on the wall

Louisville, NC State, Duke, and Pitt plus the 4 corners makes a very fun 20-team league.

Your basketball league would have Kansas, Duke, Arizona, Louisville, Baylor, and Houston... That's not even fair....

FSU destabilizing the ACC?
There is nothing to destabilize, everyone knows in 10 years the ACC is going to get picked over. Until then their media deal is ironclad and unless FSU wants to commit to a massive GOR extension nothing is going to come from this.

I hear ION is looking for sports properties.

Fire up the old Jefferson Pilot logo and turn ION into The Seminole Channel a few days a year.
