This seems like a pretty clear instance of Fran wanting an excuse for sucking and wanting to get tossed. What ref wouldn’t toss him after that barrage?

The whole Bohannon shtick about the refs having it out for Iowa and having some sort of vendetta against Fran is so annoying. If you act like a complete ass hat around someone for a decade you might have to face some consequences

When the NW player was setting up to shoot his free throws, Pat turned back and started chirping to the ref. Once the player has the ball you can't make motions or yell in attempt to distract him. Basically Pat got T'd up for being a dip sh!t.

If you watch the replay were Mad Fran got the two T's, the ball was in the air right at the 10 second mark, and the NW kid caught it at 10.1 or 10.2 on the clock at most. Maybe a 10 to 15 foot pass. The ref is counting for those 10 seconds, and gave NW the benefit of the doubt on the call. Really after watching it, I cannot blame him, it was just a bang/bang call.
Fran went off with the F bombs, it's amazing that after 13 years coaching at this level that he has not learned that you cannot come unglued on a ref, dropping repeated F bombs and not expect to get at least a T, and then he doubles down and continues to do it and they toss him.

Guy is never going to learn; glad he is the EIU coach and not at ISU.

On HN someone who has obviously had enough gets it.

He said the assistants need to stop the fake show of hold back the bad a**, and said he would think Iowa could hire someone with more self control than a 13 year old.

That game showed exactly why Iowa can't make the sweet sixteen under Fran. A physical disciplined defensive team can take away what their offense does best and Northwestern's guards are better than Iowa's, and Iowa's defense is abysmal.

Fran is just ridiculous. There is a difference between getting a T when the refs make a bad call and what Fran does. He outright looks like a he is going to physically attack them and looks like he has rabies.

This was the case when Brockington or Hunter would try to take it to the hoop last year as well. So hard for them to get a whistle. Idk what these Iowa players do differently that helps them get these calls year after year. Fran must make them all take theater classes

Iowa guys are slower so more time to get hacked is my only guess. Brock, Hunter, Holmes would be so quick it'd look like they passed by maybe?
