I went to work for this company about a little over 14 years. I left there five years ago. Back to how I went to work for this company.... I was asked by an employee of the company to apply for newly created sales position. I was a client of the company and knew the employee for few years prior to me going to work for them. We became friends and started going to events, football games, night out with the wives, etc. I even got to know his parents and his siblings well enough to get invited to their kid's weddings and such. I recently found out from another person that worked for the same company that my supposed friend told others that I was his little beotch at which he laughed when he said it.

This really pissed me off! To the point that I have deleted his phone# off my cell phone and deleted/block him from other social media accounts. Clients of this guy have told me that he is your typical "used car salesman" type of mentality. I guess, was it the right thing for me to do this in regards to deleting his number as I really want nothing to do with him anymore? If I seem him at a bar, or out somewhere, I will not converse with him. If I do say anything it will that I'm no longer your little beotch and leave. Really hurt to think he would say something like that. I'm more pissed off about it than hurt.

You are not wrong. You no longer work there and he's no longer friend worthy. Time to move past

That would've really cut the amount of sex I had as a single fella.

To the OP: you keep anyone in your life that you want. Who gives a **** what anyone else thinks. It's your show. Guy made you mad? Embarrassed you? Cut him out and move on.
Why do you need to be friends with them to boink them?

Looking back now were there signs? Things that he said that feel a little different now? That's what I'd be looking for to see if I just misread things. Otherwise, as was mentioned, is someone else creating a problem for fun and/or profit?

Couldn't he have been joking around? Some guys say that kind of thing as a joke. Or maybe he didn't say it at all. Do you trust the other employee who told you about this more than the friend for over a decade?

Since this was a years long, somewhat close relationship, I'd consider asking him about it instead of unilaterally going no-contact.

If a dude like that is saying these things behind your back can you trust him not to lie to your face?

Nah! Man! I was only joking!

But was he? Was...he?

If the guy said it, you are right to move on.

Put closure on it by asking the guy if he said it and letting him squirm his way out of it.

Myself, I'm always suspicious of people who don't keep that kind of remark to themselves. Like, what was the Party of the Second Part's motivation in telling you that? I'd say that person is just as untrustworthy as Contestant Number One.

I learned over the years that when this guy was never wrong ( when I confronted him about something he tried to lay blame on me I gave him a copy of the contract he he had written to prove it to him... he was mad at me for a couple days over that!) and was everyone's friend....so arrogancy was pretty noticeable. The guys has been with the company for 25+ years so I'm thinking his nose is pretty brown, if you get my drift. The other employers that made mention of this to me don't really care for him due to his arrogancy. Like I said I haven't been with the company for over 5 years now, so just finding this stuff out now. Why would I talk to him? He's just going to laugh it off anyway. I've know the guy for around 20 years so I figured this arrogancy out over the years, just didn't think he would say what he said for people below him to hear, as I do communicate with some of the people that work there.

Want some real revenge? Name names.

Some of us might know him...

In the meantime, watch "The Glory" on Netflix. Now, THAT is a person who knows how to get even.
