***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

All the schools closed down here in SE and SC part of the state, the highways are totally covered according to the state. We got rain up until about 6, then it turned to ice and snow.

Nothing like a snow day.
I don't think we got anything but rain here in Ankeny. If it did snow none of it stuck.

And a pretty minuscule amount at that. Looks like a potential brief shot of snow in a few hours though.

Around 2" here in Marion and it is pretty much done now. Southern Linn on to the NE looks to have received the heavy bands. So the official CR measurement at the airport may be significantly higher than the rest of the city.
Pretty similar here in far SE CR. Heavy ass snow to move.

The men, the myths, the legends.....

Lebron James.....NBA goat in scoring
Tom Brady.......NFL goat QB
Chris Cloninger......KCCI goat tool
I’m sure when Chris was in Boston he had aspirations and dreams of ending up in Des Moines, IA working for the 3rd best station in that market.

Crazy snow storm today in DBQ total snow fall ranged from 6-9"
  1. Rain at 6am (I thought storm was a dud)
  2. Trace of snow at 8am (OK so we'll get a little snow)
  3. Clear 5" of snow off my car at 9:45
  4. My chariot slalom's though jack knifed trucks, parked trucks and car's spinning tires because of bald tires on HWY 20 from downtown to west side at 10:15
  5. Roads a slushy mess but clear at 5pm.
