***Official 2023 Weather Thread***

Easy way out, literally KCCI had 0-6 inches in Des Moines as a possibility in their 10:00 news. That’s just pathetic.
I think it's awesome if you pay attention to what they are explaining with each system coming thru. They are much more transparent now and explain why there is uncertainty with a storm like this. I'm not even a meteorologist but know when a forecast temp around 32 and a size-able moisture event could go one of two ways with even a minute temp change of a few degrees.

No snow in Ames, Chris G does it again. The streak of accurate forecasts has to be verging on a record, do they keep meteorologist records?

They were almost snow globs there for awhile. Slowed down now and sounds like it is mixing with some sleet as well.

Friend said thundersnow on west side of Madison up here. Woke up to ice, closed schools and now snowing at a very heavy clip.

All the schools closed down here in SE and SC part of the state, the highways are totally covered according to the state. We got rain up until about 6, then it turned to ice and snow.

Nothing like a snow day.

Around 2" here in Marion and it is pretty much done now. Southern Linn on to the NE looks to have received the heavy bands. So the official CR measurement at the airport may be significantly higher than the rest of the city.
