I agree, Lucca needs to drive more and get to the basket. But this guy makes it sound like he should be down low posting guys up.

It's really not that far fetched either though. He's got about 20 pounds on most of the guys guarding him. It's an aspect of his game that I believe he needs to work on. But, it's not going to happen during the season. It would be great to see that be a part of his game next season, though...

We have seen Lucca try to get to the basket this year. Until he gets better at it, I am okay with him hanging around the arc. I'd rather miss a three then see us dribble it off our foot out of bounds.

Ya and id like to see hamilton bringing the ball up for us and running the offense...

Why would you like to see that? He has no advantage in that scenario (yes, I realize you're being a smart a$$). What is so far fetched about using a size advantage inside? Boozer seems to be pretty much a 3-point shooter only. But, just last week, he used his size advantage to post up a smaller defender, and he got to the line as a result.

I'm not agreeing at all with the first poster, who is upset that he didn't score inside. Because it doesn't surprise me at all. It's not his game. But, I believe it would really benefit to improve that aspect of his game, if he's going to continue to have such bulk to his frame. Otherwise, it's wasted, and is slowing him down...

I'm sorry, but you really don't know much about basketball. Look at what premier guards do. James Harden for Arizona State, Gerald Henderson for Duke, Jeff Teague for Wake Forest, are all either shorter and/or weigh less than Lucca, yet they all know how to score points inside the arc. Maybe you're defending him because you have a crush on him, but the guy is totally worthless and doesn't belong in a starting lineup. Lucca is a 3, and 3's are supposed to be a combination of shooting outside shots and scoring inside. The guy is 6'-5" and 230, yet he is a big wuss who won't take the ball inside because he has no confidence and no skill. Whenever he gets the ball, he avoids looking for the open man inside and launches a stupid shot with two defenders in his face. I'm not a fan of the guy and I think he should be a 7th or 8th man.

Who do you want to start ahead of him?

I'm not saying he shouldnt be able to get to the rim.. Im just saying he belongs on the permiter thats his strenth not his inside game.

After you said this, everything you said became null and void.

Lucca is not a 3. He was brought in to be a 2, and is forced to play the three because of a departure of a certain someone who was expected to play the 3 this year. Who is the one lacking basketball knowledge again?

******* crap. He has a lot to improve on just as all of our players, but this statement shows complete inability to have eyesight.

I pity you. Perhaps if Hilton had a "FREE LAME RICK" chant, you would not be so bitter.

I wouldn't mind a lineup of DG, Petey, Brackins, Hamilton and Vanderbeken. The lineup has height and VB is able to hit the outside shot in addition to playing inside. I wouldn't mind seeing Boozer ahead of Lucca either. He hussels and he knows how to play defense. Lucca is sorry at defense.

Yes maybe he was brought up as a 2, but he's a 3 now. That's all that matters. He needs to step up and play the 3 because that's what he's supposed to be doing now.

You think AT contributes more than Lucca?

How would we have matched up against Oklahoma using that lineup? Would you have Brackins guard Crocker?

So who comes off the bench when those 3 are tired exactly? AT can't play for all of them, and we're at a HUGE disadvantage on the defensive end because there will be a mismatch somewhere.

He came down pretty hard with his hand flat. It looked like he jammed his shoulder upward. I don't think that would cause a separation but it sure looked like it hurt like hell.
Watch our offense sometime. We have 3 guys moving and 2 guys standing. I dont know if this is the plan but I agree wth an earlier post that more baseline movement or moving in an arc from side to side would probably free him up for more shots. I know a lot of guys hate on Haluska but at least he trys to speed things up and MOVES when he doesnt have the ball.

Ok, that is a terrible argument. That's like saying when Brackins is on the floor with JVB that Brackins should be the center because "that's what he's supposed to be doing."

And we wouldn't really have an advantage offensively because AT isn't going to be a consistent scorer no matter who is guarding him.

haha. We can agree on that. Yikes. I don't think there is any doubt that he should be starting, but he absolutely has a lot of things to work on to be an all conference type player...

Yep, i would like to see him improve his ball handling more than anything.
