A name in an obit caught my eye the other day: Charles Phillip Arthur … Made me think of the Charles-Diana wedding when she kind of messed up the order of his names. Something like Charles Phillip Arthur George. Maybe I messed it up, too, but I’m not marrying the guy.

Dude has two first names!

I used to make fun of spam, then I found out how much the Hormel family is worth in just stock alone on that company and I stopped laughing. Ground up cheap pork is apparently a big business.
Subway is a private family owned company. There are rumors of a sale. The number I saw was $10 billion but being a private company no one really knows their books. The current CEO is the first non family member. His hiring seems to coincide with this latest ad campaign with Barkley, Serena, Steph and a whole slew of big name sports stars.

The hormel family held about 17B of stock last I knew. That is just under that specific brand also. Once the last child of the original founder dies, all the stock goes into their foundation. The last one or two left are getting pretty old IIRC.

Watching ISU WBB and keeping track of UI wbb. Monica Czinano just fouled out. UI behind 69-66 w/ 1:44 to go.

Well the drive back from wbb was twice as long as normal. Oh well safe and sound and the ladies got the W.
I think I'm moving snow mainly tomorrow instead of getting my other stuff done.

We got about 1 inch of snow and then some freezing rain on top of it. Like so many other storms it seems to part at Omaha and then close back on the other side.

I got an expired ticket for license tabs one hour after they had expired at midnight. Much long time ago when CWW#1 and I lived in not the greatest apartment complex. Got up to go to work in the morning and there was a ticket on my rusty old Nova issued at 1:00 a.m. in the morning. The tabs I had bought were sitting on the seat in the car, had just not stuck them on yet. Kinda doubt the ******* cops drove through the country club neighborhood a couple blocks away and ticketed cars in their driveways.
I got a ticket for expired tags way back when I was working at Hilton. Apparently they cruised through the lot in the wee hours and found my car in the Center lots. They then waited thinking they would nab a drunk kid who was there way too late after an event. But I had been doing a changeover after the event so I was stone sober. But of course they grilled me for a while before giving me the ticket and letting me go home and go to bed.

But hey, I don't have a problem with them pulling people over for expired tags. It is the law after all. But now in Minnesota they can't pull people over for that. They can only issue a ticket for it if they pull them over for something else.

By the way, I grew up calling them 'tags' but then I moved to MN and everyone calls them 'tabs'. Anyone else call them 'tags' or is that just a NE Iowa thing?

4-6 Inches of snow it seems like. Luckily it hasn't seemed to drift much.

I have only ever known them as tags and the renewal website is https://www.iowataxandtags.org/ so I would say that is the official term here.

But it’s heavy as ****. And the worst kind of snow to move with a shovel.

How the **** does a wheel just fall off a snow blower? Granted the thing is over 20 yrs old but still. I have a fond connection with this ole girl. I wondered at first if I busted the chain because of the self propelled stopped working but then the wheel just fell off on the road. It still wanted to churn and throw snow but it just sat there with one wheel looking at me all sad like “I’m trying Son but I just don’t have it anymore.”

I think I've always used tabs but the two words are similar enough that I may be misremembering.
