Favorite FBS program outside of Iowa State?

I’ve had friends and now my niece go to CSU so I’m down with the Rams. Also like the Long Island teams Hofstra and Stony Brook because I grew up there. I got to see Cael wrestle @hoftsra one year and got his and Bobby Douglases autograph.

I went to Arizona State (Well Mesa CC) then one semester at ASU. So that is my second favorite team. However, we pretty much suck at all sports except Baseball, and those types of sports. I really like Alabam and yes 100 percent jumped onto that bandwagon. I just want a National team to root for and I went to a game and was amazed how awesome that place is down there. So it was really dope when Proctor changed to them. haha
ASU has good wrestling.

I root for St Mary's bball because they can be a thorn in Gonzaga's side. They've been damn solid for quite a while.

My girlfriend and her entire family re Mizzou fans/alums, so I have found myself following them. I do not hesitate to point out how far they have fallen in the SEC and my opinions that them leaving the Big 12 was dumb.

My cousin is a Purdue alum, and I lived with him for about 3 years, so I also cheer for them.

As much as I want to cheer for Iowa when they are not playing Iowa State, since most of my family is Hawkeye fans, I always find myself more happy when Iowa fails.

We don’t have D1 baseball or hockey, so I follow Notre Dame in both for family reasons.

Grew up going to Creighton games so I always root for them except for when we played in Omaha last year.

Generally root for underdogs so I hate most of the $EC and B1G. Love the service academies and their old school offenses; I've sided with Army since Navy put together that long winning streak. I can appreciate small private academic institutions like Northwestern, Stanford, and Boston College finding ways to be competitive. I've been rooting for BYU to join the Big 12 for a long time- I don't care if they're Mormon; they have a rich football history. I may grow to hate them; though I haven't really grown to hate West Virginia or TCU- yet. I hate the Kansas schools more. I've been a fan of Colorado State since the days of Sonny Lubick when they'd regularly punk the Buffaloes and wish they'd turn the program around enough to be an attractive expansion candidate. Also pulling for Memphis if the Four Corners conquest doesn't pan out. If the Pac 12 survives, I'd like to see them add Fresno State, and/or Hawaii, SMU, & UNLV.

F*ck Boise State and Rutgers.

In all seriousness though, I love Washington State from the PAC, Mississippi State from the SEC, Okie State from the Big 12 and Wake Forest from the ACC.

Big Ten nobody gets it BUT if I had to pick one I am going with Maryland. Liked them a lot in the ACC, so don’t mind them that much.

Also for basketball only, I don’t know why but have always loved watching Arizona.

The service academies.
I served with a couple guys that played football at Navy. Great dudes. I remember thinking, these guys aren't very big to have played D1... And they were super chill for officers. So I cheer for Navy.

VMI on the other hand...the couple of those guys I knew that were USMC platoon commanders were major dikkheads.

Another friend of mine went to The Citadel so I cheer for them too.

My sister went to grad school at Oregon so I cheer for the Ducks.

My kid is a big Wake Forrest fan so I cheer for them and I think it's cool that they still compete at a D1 level with their tiny enrollment.

UTSA, significant other works for their football team.

Fun to have seen some Cyclones connections on the team, but they’ve since moved on to other positions.

Wisconsin. Beer, brats, and cheese curds.... can't go wrong with that.... plus they usually make Iowa their b*tch it seems like. Great gameday atmosphere.

As a kid I loved Oklahoma and the wishbone. Thomas Lott was a favorite. Obviously not anymore. Nephew and his wife are in the Air Force so follow them a bit.

I could throw in a soft spot for Purdue. I had a few cousins go there about 15-20 years ago. Have family that still lives in West Lafayette. Place has always given me a very homey impression.

Top it off with the fact that they’ve given Iowa fits at times over the years.
Matt painter seems like a class act

I tend to like OU but it's more because of their dominant teams in the early 00s.

Otherwise I like upstart teams like Utah last football season.

ISU
Whoever is playing EIU that week, GO Kentucky.

Started rooting more for Clemson since my son moved to S. Carolina last year and my grandson has become a Clemson fan, even though they live right outside Columbia.

My dislike for Texas has grown over the past few years, going from its UT whatever, to hope they never win and cannot wait for them to leave the conference, after my youngest son married a UT grad. Love my daughter in law, but man, cannot stand the school she roots for. Tired of the UT arrogance about everything that is remotely connect to UT. Move to the SEC, no problem just need a few years, as an example.
