Sounds good. Supposed to fly out Friday from MSP but oldest lives in IC area. Can’t take off all Thursday he said so wondering if we can fly him from there to MSP on Thursday evening
I would argue that 10-12" of snow matters quite a lot compared to 2-4". If it truly ends up that bad and lasts until Friday, nobody's going anywhere on Christmas Eve either, because they'll still be digging out of their own driveways, and even if they accomplish that the roads will still be in terrible shape and littered with abandoned cars.
I generally count on an hour as I would rather be there and wait then be stressed. That being said if flying Allegiant I would add maybe a half hour to that as usually their check-in desk staff also works the desk at the air bridge or the ground handling.
This. Snow amounts matter a lot. A couple of inches and you can't drive while the snow is blowing. A foot and you can't drive while the snow is blowing, and then you have to wait for several more days while the plows clear everything out.
You don't have to be that early. I always am because I'm super cautious, but I think you can check in, check a bag and get to the game in under 30 minutes. Sometimes its 10 minutes.
Got plenty of liquor. The question is do I need to factor in a buffer so I don't have to drink all of the "good stuff".
We had my family's big Christmas this past Saturday. On some level I was bummed because it's the gathering I look forward to the most and to do it first, and early, meant everything else that followed was kind of a letdown. Looks like a pretty brilliant move now, though.
