I would welcome anyone that resembles a QB at this point.

I just wonder how much the Bears would want to invest into a 2 or 3 year "solution"? Obviously that is the toughest position to clean up since good QBs rarely go into free agency. And to get a QB in the draft that can play right away you virtually have to have a top 10 pick...or higher!

after the way he played this year, YEAH! orton is ok, but he will never be among the NFL elite. warner wont be the long term solution, but he will help over the next few years. the bears arent going to get him because they wont like his price tag.

The dude is turning 38 this year. I would not be surprised to see him retire if he wins.

He might be 38, but his body hasn't taken much wear and tear due the the fact that he has only been in 109 games his 10 year career. And he hasn't started them all.

I think you actually gave the perfect answer. You give Warner a 3 yr deal with the first two years being heavy in pay. Then draft a QB THIS year, someone with the raw talents but needs to learn for a few years, and by the 3rd year of Warner's contract, the rookie has learned how to play at this level, learned from an experienced and good qb and hopefully is ready to take the reigns. That's how you develop a stable QB situation. I'd take Warner in a second!

The problem with this scnerio is that it makes sense. This is the reason it will never happen in the Bears organization.

The problem is, the Bears do not even come close in WR talent when compared to Arizona. Not to mention, the Bears offensive line simply was not good this year.

Warner would not only have options to throw the ball to, he'd get killed back there.
