Strictly working with the #s against a single common opponent, the answer is YES! Beyond that, probably gonna go with a negative.

(All stats are from barttorvik.com)

Opponent is North Carolina A&T

Score
ISU 80-43 (+37)
Houston 74-46 (+28)

Game Tempo
Both games had a tempo of 68 which I find interesting

Adjusted Offense (highest # better)
ISU 111.2
Hou 103.6

Adjusted Defense (lowest # better)
ISU 72.2
Hou 76.2

Game Score
ISU 99
Hou 97

Now North Carolina A&T's #s

Adj O
vs ISU 79.6
vs Hou 90.8

Adj D
vs ISU 112.1
vs Hou 94.8

GS
vs ISU 2
vs Hou 38

So there it is people undeniable proof that we are in fact better than Houston.

Is Houston really #1 team? I am not impressed with Houston.

#5 in AP but other sites/polls have them @ #1. They got a really solid squad again this year. Not perfect by any means but they're gonna win alot of games

Houston at least has an idea of what they want to do on offense. We have zero idea of what we want to do on offense.

Sure, they have better offensive players. I just think we'll continue to lose/not attract good offensive players if all we do is run a high post handoff with 3 guys standing around the perimeter. Think Hunter saw that writing on the walll.

Even though the prospects for next year are a very different offensive output? If ISU had even decent perimeter shooters, it would look fine.

I think Hunter got a big old bag of cash to go to a more interesting college town and that was the rationale.

Texas averaged less than 4 more points/game last year than ISU.

How did these stats play out for Iowa?

I mean, Momcilovic and Biliew will help us a ton next year with having a potent offense. Have you seen Biliew play? The dude is a monster and will score a lot of points. Momcilovic is an athletic forward with a great outside shot. I'm not too worried about not attracting good offensive players since we have two of the best offensive players in the 2023 class coming in. You have to trust TJ. He's a hell of a recruiter.
