Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Didn't they say last night that ISU has like the 5th oldest team in the country last night?
Both teams have got to be up there I'd think. Though with all the extra years they've given imagine teams in general are just older

Osun 24
Kunc 23
Holmes 24
Grill 22
Lipsey 19
---
Jones 21
Ward 22
Watson 19

Iowa
Rebracca 25
Murray 22
Patrick 22
Perkins 21
Ulis 21
---
Connor 24
Bowen 20
Sandfort 20

How many years at each school combined? Take the 8 ISU players and including this year, there is 12 years at Iowa State. What is the Iowa count?

Edit: Nevermind, I just did the Iowa count . . those 8 players have a combined 24 years on the Iowa team.
So literally, twice as much.

Didn't realize Bown was already 20 as a freshman. Fran just has a nose for these kids men

Rebracca is 25?! He’s an old man.

I don't even want to ask what that makes me. I'm pretty sure Tre King is 25 too. It's amazing how old some of these guys are for sure
Tre King is 22. As it stands, I think he is technically a senior still, but with an extra year of eligibility granted by covid. Under the old transfer rules, he would have been a RS Jr this year with one more to play.

Since 25 is supposed to be the time our brain is fully developed, there should be a study on how much better a 25 year old player gets with decision making im game vs. even a 22 year old.

He was tough to find but something called pro ballers said 1/1/98 so he'd be 25 soon. May not be accurate. It's not too important these teams are old and I suspect that's the landscape more so than 15 years ago with transferring, covid years, prep school etc

Connor and Rebracca probably do make the least mental mistakes on team now that you point it out

You could be right. I was off a year in my estimation, thinking he had only played 2 years at Eastern Kentucky, but he played 3.

What year will we finally be rid of all of the players getting the extra "covid" year? I lost track.
Basically anyone who was a true freshman last year and since then will not have a covid year. The only player that this would have pertained to on this years ISU team would have been Hunter. As it stands, Eli King, Lipsey, and Watson will not have covid years. For Iowa, Payton Sandfort and Bowen will not have a covid year, of their current roster. Although I'm sure Fran will figure out how to get them an extra year somehow.

So I guess to answer your question, there should be no more covid years after the 2024-25 season

@GoHawks I found the link you found on proballers, and that is all I can find. Not sure of the accuracy either, but that is surprisingly old. He still has a year of eligibility left too, and could play at Iowa State until he's 26. Insane.
