49ers - Brock Purdy - Still and Always #1

Little bit of a fishermans photo though. Look at where they are per their lockers. Purdy is much closer and Jimmy is further back. He is bigger (my 5 8 son said when he was around Brock in college, he felt that brock was around my height or just a smidge shorter, I'm 5 11), but just also clarifying the photo.
Jimmy also appears to have his cleats screwed into his shoes, where Brock does not.

Brock Purdy having success last weekend with San Francisco has to be eating the Hawkeye fans at the core. Listening to The Pat McAfee Show yesterday and today co-show personality Ty Schmidt is jumping at every chance to tear down Iowa State University and all of the success that Brock and the team had the previous 4 years. As a viewer it's not a good look and shows how insecure he and the fan base is that Iowa State is on the rise and gaining ground on the beloved Hawkeyes status of top program in the state.

They spent 3 years trying to belittle him and his accomplishments at ISU. How many mocked him being Mr Irrelevant as if getting drafted to play in the NFL is something to ridicule? They were the same way with Niang. It's great that both of them have had the last laugh. Iowa fans simply can't take Iowa State getting any attention.

I'm going to be seeing a friend of mine tonight who is a huge Hok fan (tends to be condescending toward ISU) AND a San Fran fan. I'm going to ask him if he still likes the 49ers. Also, not only do I want Purdy to continue to do well because he is a Cyclone AND amazing human being, but I want to see what effects that cognitive dissonance might have on my friend. WOULD LOVE for the 49ers to win the SB with Brock at the helm, and for me to say, "Looks like a Cyclone had to save your sorry-a$$ team from under-performing this year." Probably won't happen - but I can wish. Since my Broncos are irrelevant AGAIN this year, looks like I'm just going to ride the bandwagon fandom of any Cyclone who is on a successful team.

Go on twitter when someone national makes a positive comment towards Iowa State or an Iowa State player, and the replies will be full of butthurt hawk fans. Most insecure fanbase in America.

I haven't noticed this being posted yet, it's pretty darn clever...

Anyone interested in learning how Brock got there, this is a great podcast with Sage. He talks about how he worked with Purdy to prep for the NFL.

Sage deserved a 2 hr pod and that guy cut him off at 30 minutes. Sage is a stud. Absolutely love listening to him and think ISU would be well served if they kept him around and happy. His knowledge would go well as an offensive consultant.
