Arland Bruce could be a heck of a player, i think it's too early to grade him given where he played.

I'm not going to judge a WR on poor production in that offense. That was more on Spencer Petras and Brian Ferentz - the worst QB/OC duo in Division I football.

In all fairness with Iowa you are getting a solid defense that will keep you in every game. A stout offensive line. Historically good TEs. And typically more than serviceable RBs. This should give a QB with any talent the opportunity to shine. The biggest question is the same one we have here at ISU. Can the coaching staff stay out of their own way enough to allow that talent to show and thrive?

I hate Iowa as much as the next person but there is no denying they are a solid team with above average results regularly. When you add to that the typically weak division they play in there should be plenty of reasons someone could see the draw to that cesspool.

But you are forgetting one very important fact. Their offense SUCKS and unless they can the OC it will not get better.

It appears that Iowa isn't ******* around when it comes to NIL and the portal. Really hoping the Arlen Harris transfer doesn't come down to NIL because I have a hard time seeing us being able to out spend Iowa.

Yeah IDK why people are even entertaining ideas for transfer QB. Not only do we not really need one (Dekkers has talent and we got a great recruit coming), but we can't afford what an upgrade would cost.

Just isn't going to happen this offseason, nor should it.

FWIW, Erich Anthony is the football S&C coach at Tulsa. A former assistant strength coach for the ISU football team

Doubt he is an upgrade over Noel or Stanley. If ISU brings in transfer receiver(s), I rather go bigger/faster or a deep threat.

IMO Bruce is a possession receiver- we got those.
