Iowa Serial Killer?

Murder in Albia in 1983 (from Small Town Murder podcast)

I don't think the daughter has a great reputation for the truth. Plus the well where the bodies are supposed to be has been covered up. So it would be quite a dig. Supposedly there was a brother who committed suicide and the 2 wives also committed suicide. Messed up.

Nevertheless...if I were down there and had access to some earth moving equipment my morbid curiosity would get me digging...

There was a shorter article in the Register today. Seem weird that she has tried to report this in the past with no results.

Sounded to me like they weren’t eager to let everyone know they were incompetent enough to have a serial killer in their midst for decades that they never knew about.

I grew up around Hamburg. It is VERY rural down there. Very easy to disappear. I could easily see this happening. A number of the folks were "different".

There was an old farmer in Missouri who picked up drifters, involved them in a bad check schemes with livestock, and then killed them. Pretty sure his wife was in on it.

That's strange, there has been a man missing from Albia since 1984 too.

Wouldn't you be?

And I imagine he was able to paint his daughter as just some "troubled kid" (and, given what she went through, she very well may have been!) so that the police would view her claims with skepticism.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest allies some of these serial killers have is police incompetence. Look at Dahmer. Or the situation going on down in KC.
