PAC-12 News Coming Today???

I would guess him saying the internal alignment on both Big12 and Pac10 is high, means maybe they have come up with some kind of merger or partnership?? Although that kind of got puked on moths ago. So idk.

Let's fling some poo: USC and UCLA are changing their minds and NOT going to the B1G!

The moneyline on that would be a big number, but it might be wroth a sprinkle as they say. :)

That is lipstick on a pig.

SDSU and......

They need a partner. Maybe Stanford will hold their nose to allow for Boise as they are facing a conference collapse. But otherwise, SMU seems like a good option with the Big12 all but killing the AAC.

Not sure Stanford will care about that. Pretty sure the majority of that 'fanbase' is unaware they even have a football team.

But why is the B1G below?
Guessing what he's saying is

SEC - Obviously united

Vacant - guessing hes saying there's a gap but its weird to rank that spot still. Cant imagine he's implying there's a new conference coming or something. That's way too left field.

Big 12/ Pac 12 - not sure if he's saying the Pac 12 is unified or the Big 12 is in wild dissary. Neither seems correct

Big 10 - only thing i got here is that maybe there's tension with the presidents and Warren on expansion? Warren wanting more and the presidents saying no? Weird one

ACC - I can buy internal strife in there. Clemson, FSU, The U, UVA, UNC wanting to break the contract and everyone else saying no.

Idk, none of these make sense unless some really weird ****, like Amazon or Apple creating their own conference and buying teams for it happens, which is an OTT idea itself

I've heard rumblings that the B!G is divided on westward expansion, which the commish continues to leave the door open, and the conference hasn't actually acted on it.

That could be the divide. Not sure what the announcement would be though in this context.

I think that's real and not just rumblings. It's been reported on. But I'm also skeptical that's causing any meaningful division in the league. Given the contract they just signed, and the fact that most of the travel burden of their recent expansion is going to fall on USC and UCLA, I think that's more of a shrug than a real strategic disagreement.

Maybe he is saying the Big12 is aligned on wanting to poach the P10, but the P10 is aligned on everyone staying together?? Although the latter sure doesn't seem that way from the outside.

Or maybe the Big12 is aligned on skipping the P12 for now, and waiting on the ACC to dissolve someday and fortify the eastward presence.

I'm sure he's in the know on PAC stuff but I'm not buying that he knows what's happening in the inner workings of the other P5 conferences. What I've read is that currently Iowa and OSU aren't as jazzed on more immediate expansion as the other schools but his take is a pretty serious stretch.

San Diego St to the PAC.

That's my wild ass guess.

Typically I would say that any expansion would be tied to media rights. But SDSU wouldn't move the needle on Media Right$ so that might be accurate.

Oh really?? SDSU wouldn't move your needle???

Agreed. There is a difference between arguing/division versus discussion. Big 10 is just discussing things, I don't think anyone is actually angry or upset.

New PAC-12 logo and branding news.;)

Could very well be. I remember living in Idaho as a Boise State fan when they were in the WAC, and getting hyped for a teased announcement from the Mountain West. I was hoping for a Boise State invite (they had Utah, TCU, BYU at the time so it would have been a huge step up) and it wound being just a stupid new logo release. Such a letdown.
