Jack Trice Stadium Lego

I finally pulled the trigger this past week and bought one. After way more time than I would care to admit over the course of 4 long evenings I finished it.

The instructions were less than ideal, but if one has good enough eyesight it can be done.

Now that I have the instructions and the list of pieces, I am seriously considering ordering the pieces in real lego bricks and building it again.

(The file size is too large for the picture to attach.)
I got one of these for Christmas and got started on it, but the instructions have kept me from getting very far. Just need to devise a way to keep track of what I’ve done for each step, since most steps require the addition of 50+ pieces. I’m thinking of using a highlighter on instruction manual to show the pieces I’ve already put on.

When I was working on mine I found myself regretting the decision to not take the time to organize all the pieces before I started. So I would say take the time to organize by color and shape before you jump back in.

I would say if you do the highlighter thing make a photocopy of the instructions to mark up. Because when you make a mistake (its pretty inevitable) you dont have to deal with a page covered in highlighter. I did consider marking the pages too to know what piece i was on but decided against it.

Once I had the first couple layers down, it started to go faster as it was easier to see where pieces lined up with the row beneath.

Gotta say, the instructions on this thing are horrible. Pieces are way tiny and it really helps if you have a magnifying glass. This is NOT a lego set and it's not really for kids.

I got both JTS and the Cy mascot models for Christmas. Cy is smaller and took me For. Eh. Ver. I went ahead and sorted the pieces for JTS but haven't started it yet. After all the time it took to do Cy, I don't know how long it will take me to get JTS done. Biggest problem is I have a toddler and no good active work space in the house.

Dare we ask how much the custom order of lego for this ran you?
And what are the dimensions on that? Maybe 16x24 inch?

(yes I am considering it)

The lego are cheap. You know unless you need to buy 3000+ then it adds up quickly. I also forgot to order some so after I started building I had to pause almost immediately while I waited for the pieces i failed to order. The pick a brick lego service takes about a month to get delivered. The second time inrealized I missed some I just went to Amazon and got some packs of the pieces i needed. It was only slightly more expensive and was in my mailbox in 3 days.

I don't have a measuring tape close and dont feel like getting one. The base is madee of 4 16x16 inch base plates which is 48 by 48 lego nubs each plate. But the stadium will only cover about 60% of that.

There is a Lego Store in the Mall of America and you can get bulk bricks but I really haven't dug deep enough to know how obscure of pieces you can get.

Very nice! I have the small one that took me a while to put together. Finally done, now I need to finish moving into my new office at work so I have a place to display it.
My son got that smaller off-brand set last Xmas. He started it, but somewhere around page 8 or 9 I began helping and eventually had to finish it as he lost interest. Had it been actually Lego brand, I'm sure he would have completed it.

Mine sat around for quite a while as some said the instructions are junk. I finally bribed my daughter to finish it and said ignore the dark gray/black difference as it was really hard to distinguish which was which in the instructions.

I'm pretty sure there are a lot of mistakes and things missing, but looks good enough and its together after all that.

Same here. I ran out of one of the colors, but it was in a place where it wouldn't be seen, so I was able to substitute with a piece I had extras of.

Look at that awesome press box! I can't believe people scorn it.
It's a little out of proportion and the camera angle makes it look worse than it really is. I may take it apart and remove a row of windows in each level to make it less obnoxious.
