Except, payout in the "new" Pac will suck. Sure, you make the playoffs every few years or so, but you also only get $30M per year. You think Rutgers cares about the playoffs? Not a chance, but they are cashing a $65M (and increasing) paycheck every year. Both Washington and Oregon need the higher payouts if they want to compete with the big boys.
If they move to the big ten at this point they won’t be getting a fair cut for a decade. If they move to the big 12 they might get a 10mil bump but that will be obliterated by travel costs while also making it harder to become the next Clemson by appearing in the playoffs. They have also been operating their AD’s perfectly fine with the lower revenue so it’s not like much will change.
Oregon has hung with the big boys fine with their funding due to donor support. Washington has been fairly consistent too with their wealthy alumni base. If they move to the big ten there is no way they get a full share for a long time. Yeah the extra money helps for coaching salary and faculty upgrades but that’s kinda it. Both school are already pretty secure in those things.

The playoff specifics haven't been agreed upon by the P5 & G5 Commissioners, along with ND's AD. If they each have equal voice, then I would agree that Oregon & Wash might be able to structure Pac12 revenue sharing in a way to keep them in a Pac10.
Is there a reason as to why other conferences won't have to vote on this anymore? They just gave everyone else a seat at the table.
