Mccaffery's improved shot would be welcomed I'm worried about this teams ability to hit the 3 ball vs recent teams. We've had 4- 6 legit deep ball threats last few years but Murray and Sandfort currently are only ones that I'm confident will shoot mid 30's and up from deep. It's critical with Frans pace and space style.
Coach Otz says you only need to be 285th in 3pt FG% to make the Sweet 16.

They are setting themselves up for disappointment, and it's not fair to Kris. He is not as athletic as Keegan, and it's not close.
He averaged 9/4 last season. Definitely not a lock to be all conference in a 14-team conference that is one of the best in the country.

If Kris Murray isn't as good this year, as Keegan was last year, there's going to be a segment of Iowa fans who are going to hold it against him. I'm actually glad Fran is trying to get out in front of that, because it's not fair to Kris to be held to that standard. How many times have we seen the Hawkeye "faithful" turn on their own players when they don't perform up to fan expectations. Zach McCabe, Woody, Gessel, even Jorbo and Connor last year, just to name a few.

I think it is great that he stays with the only coach that gave him and his brother a chance at this level. You don't owe anyone anything, but Fran did give him the chance to be where he is today. I'm glad that stands for something.
Or were you talking about going the G-League route?
