Ref have no consequences

The targeting on ISU and what appeard two non targeting calls on Baylor were made by replay official. I'd have some questions for that guy on why no look at it...IF your going to stop the game and call ISU's targeting
Sort of. The on field guys could have made the calls on Baylor too, and didn't.

They need to reign in the targeting rule. 95% of them I see are not malicious and incidental with the defender hitting a moving target. Stop calling the incidental ones. Or get rid of the ejections and make it a 5 or 10 yard penalty. I also think 15 yards is too harsh for face masks, which are pretty much always incidental as well with defenders just trying to grab whatever they can. Make it 5 yards and a first down.

Besides the 3 complete BS calls that BU got there was at least 5 total BS no calls in their favor, in addition to ISU losing one of their best defenders on the first series of the game. Yes, ISU could have played better in the second half, but all the help that Baylor got today made it a really hard climb.

It’s obvious that targeting should be like flagrants in mbb with 2 levels. Anything that isn’t malicious should just be a penalty with no ejection. It’s ridiculous that they haven’t made that change yet.

You’d think with today’s technology they could have cameras all over. Hell they could even tap into cell phones in the stands where people are taking videos(but obviously they are more than capable of having the cameras if they wanted without that). They could have a tracker in the football, Top Golf manages to do that with a million golf balls.

They should have the head official and one other oficial answer 1-2 questions from both sides of the media. Did anyone else see the ACC suspended an official for calling a Cal offsides on Notre Dame fg that was missed. The video shows that no one was offside

I absolutely hate replay officials having the ability to stop the game to review for targeting. I can understand the need to get dangerous hits out of the game. But if it’s not egregious enough for one of the refs to see it and throw a flag, it doesn’t need called.

Like some others have stated....I have watched a lot of football since it got dark.....a lot of hits. a lot of uncalled "targeting". The more time that goes by, in my mind the targeting call on us only grows more intriguing and baffling. I hope this has legs in media....I keep seeing Alamo Bowl highlights of the same blatant bias and disrespect. I'd like to see some statements from the Big12 next week......

I have a hard time believing that the officials are really as bad as they would have to be to make or fail to make some of their calls unintentionally

Agree with this. Bad calls suck and are frustrating, but sometimes its the hand you're dealt and you have to rise above it. We did not respond out of halftime, which was disappointing.
Complete ********. 14 points HANDED to Baylor with a handicap of losing our best safety and we're just supposed to "play through it". The ref apologist group is getting old. If you're ejecting 18-22 boys from games you damn well better be ready to answer for your calls and be held accountable. What a limp **** group within our fan base

This.

All three of the terrible personal foul penalties were very poor interpretation of the rules.

Targeting has its place but stopping the game on a routine hit when a penalty wasn’t called originally is so bad. Baylor had a few that should not be called but were equally/worse than Freyler’s.

The ref that threw the flag on Reeder had to have seen something wrong and assumed he head hunted. Taking out a crosser within the LOS is totally legal and that severity of a hit shouldn’t be called unnecessary roughness in middle school.

Don’t know what else to say about the below the waste flag. Terrible interpretation of an understandable rule.

We had our chances to overcome officiating errors and that’s ultimately on us, but those errors directly leading to 14 points being scored and an ejection of one of our top players early in the game. So so so bad
