I’ve never had anything that was banana flavored that didn’t suck unless it was an actual banana.

Yeah, banana pudding, banana bread and banana pie are awesome because it’s actually real bananas.

IMHO watermelon flavored things are even worse. I kind of like real watermelon, watermelon flavored things taste toxic to me.

Lime flavored things are usually pretty awesome even if it’s really artificial stuff like cheap jelly beans.

Neighbor told me that HyVee gas managers are allowed to select one fountain soda flavor while the rest are dictated by corporate. One in the DSM metro had RC on the fountain line because that was the manager’s fav. He stopped daily until the manager moved on and RC was removed. RC is great stuff.

Drank a lot of RC at my grandma's as a kid as well. Always liked it.

Apparently it was the official of soft drink of Midwestern grandmas in the 80's and 90's.

The UNI dome used to have RC and Diet Rite at their concession stands. I haven't been to the Dome in 6 or 7 years so I don't know if that is still true or not.

This is a major problem in my life. The concept of banana flavored anything I am for, however, 95% of the time it's done TERRIBLY.

There are some good things out there. Banana runtz are good. Whiteys in the QC makes a badass banana split shake.

I can confirm that at least 1 Hy-Vee Gas (the other 2 in DBQ have become Fast N Fresh I guess?) carry both RC Cola and Squirt in their fountain pop assortment. Kind of bizarre if you ask me, but someone must drink that stuff I guess, for them to be offering it.

Seems like I recall the banana flavoring used for most products is actually based on a variety of banana that doesn’t exist anymore. The Gros Michel variety went extinct around 1965, and the Cavendish variety is the current type of banana available to eat.

So, that banana flavoring you don’t like? An entirely different flavor from actual bananas we eat today.

Buildup to CyHawk 2022 has proven we all had Grandmas who looked exactly like Queen Elizabeth with a fridge stocked full of RC cola.
