Going to be in Des Moines this weekend. Where would be a good Cyclone crowd to watch the game in the area of the the Marriott Downtown?

Everywhere should be a spilt crowd for CyHawk:
Free Outdoor game watch at Cowles Commons will have two large screens and food trucks.
Tipsy Crow has a decent set up for game watches especially if weather is nice
Johnnys Hall of Fame is solid to watch a game.
1908 draught house has lots of TVs
Buzzard Billys
Mullets is within walking distance but it’s a long walk
Truman’s KC Pizza Tavern -East village

Short drive down to ingersoll:
Big grove brewery: bring ear plugs this place is loud… not for me but some like
Ingersoll station
Wellmans on Ingersoll
Star bar: low key and limited seating near bar where tvs are but food is lays good

Plenty of places right outside your door. Just depends what type of place you want. Take a walk around Saturday morning and see what appeals to you.

I don't live in IA. Just curious, what would you say is the Iowa/ISU fan split in DM area?

It feels fairly close to 50/50 in Des Moines but probably still a slight Iowa lean. They’re louder and more annoying so it feels like there are more hawkeye fans but it’s getting better.

Seems to me that east and south side are more iowa, north and west are more ISU. But it's no worse than 60-40 anywhere in the metro.

Younger crowd is more ISU, blue hairs are Iowa more. So basically we are adding new youth faster and they are dying off faster.
Iowa fans are definitely from the shallow end of the gene pool with overall lower IQs than ISU fans. Even with the doctors, lawyers and dentists. Prove me wrong.

Up until the state legislature put pressure on Iowa. They preferred out of state students for their medical department. So the doctors quite often were the smart out of staters.

The Front Row bar in Clive and G Migs in Valley Junction are notorious Hok bars. If we manage to win, I may have to stop in one of those places after the game to enjoy their anguish.

go to g migs and follow it up with something tasty from the Winchester to truly celebrate
