So Gottlieb is still a Jerk

Oh come on now. His career .457 FT percentage was still better than his career .368 FG percentage...
I actually heard him give some pretty funny commentary about that once. Since he is a small white guy whenever he played pick up ball everyone on defense would yell "shooter" when he had the ball on the perimeter and he would just laugh.

Unfortunately for us, Gottlieb learned early on that being a jerk gets ratings. I don't know who is watching Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith but obviously quite a few are.

They aren't playing Bowling Green.
No, they are playing random NL team for one of 81 meaningless regular season home games in 100 degree heat for 3.5 hours.

Sorry, if you can get huge crowds for a random regular season game for the Dodgers, you shouldn't get dogcrap attendance in one of 7 home games in a year. Or you shouldn't return everybody from a final four basketball team for the most storied CBB program in the country and draw like 8500 per home game.

Look, their fanbase is terrible. The city just doesn't care about UCLA sports. We basically have to listen to people say "if USC wins again, they'll draw. Their games were HUGE in the Carroll days." So yes, if both the LA NFL teams leave again and they have the best college team in decades, I'm sure they will sell out. Otherwise, they'll get a decent crowd for a decent team, and really good crowds if they are playing really well. So basically they are like most teams not on the west coast.

why do people actually care about a dude that doesn't know which way pants go on?

He was neither the first nor the only one in regards to the Freeman story was be?

Some things never change. Douggie left Norte Dame after his freshman year. He stole a classmate's credit card and made several purchases with it.

He was was a very good player at Oklahoma State in the Sutton years.

I probably could have been a very good player under Sutton’s coaching, and I’m a horrible basketball player.

Didn’t think about USCs big run was also at a time when LA had 0 NFL teams IIRC. Wonder how that would have affected their attendance. People aren’t likely to buy season tickets to two same sport teams.
