Lost way too early. Wasn't he 57 when he passed?
I was on the way to Ames for an ISU game that night when it came over the radio.

You are so spot on. Pete was not only an amazing announcer but he was just an all around great human being. Back when it was hard to watch ISU on TV, Pete said he'd record the games for me (on VHS) so that I could watch them each week. He didn't really know me from squat but that tells you just how much he cared about ISU fans and that he'd do just about anything for them.Pete Taylor was the bomb. ISU was lucky to have him.

Love him and miss him each and every day
Pete Taylor was the best announcer in my lifetime.
I think John and Eric are great too, so no shade on them at all.
Garoppolo signed a one year restructured deal with the niners.
How is it a shame for Brock? With a no trade clause.
That's a shame for Brock. Working with Shanahan would have been good for him, but I have my doubts he's going to stick there.
That puts him 4th on the SF QB depth chart. Lance, Jimmy G, Sudfeld, BP. No one keeps 4 QB's.How is it a shame for Brock?
How about 2 practice squad QBs? (Sudfeld and Brock)That puts him 4th on the SF QB depth chart. Lance, Jimmy G, Sudfeld, BP. No one keeps 4 QB's.
Those teams weren't going to trade for him when they thought SF might cut him. I suspect SF didn't want to face him in the division and Lance he wasn't ready, so they back tracked. What a weird ass saga. Don’t know why Jimmy would do that. You’d have to think he could have gotten a look as a starter for a team like the Seahawks or Browns.
If they like Brock enough they’ll keep him somewhere. Jimmy is a one year deal here. With a no trade clause.

He also probably figured nobody would touch him for 25MM. Drop it down some and if you are the backup you make decent money. It seems once a QB gets cut and doesn't have a team, they are regulated to near retirement at his age. He needed to show he would play for a little less and stay in the league than sit at home making good money and being done. Probably would lose his subway gig if he was at home also. Those teams weren't going to trade for him when they thought SF might cut him. I know. I’m saying it’s weird for Jimmy to restructure his deal to be a backup when he could have just let the 49ers cut him and then he could have signed somewhere to be a likely starter. Those teams weren't going to trade for him when they thought SF might cut him. I'm guessing his agent has been busy shopping him around and he didn't like what the options were.I know. I’m saying it’s weird for Jimmy to restructure his deal to be a backup when he could have just let the 49ers cut him and then he could have signed somewhere to be a likely starter.
And at this point, teams would be looking at him as a gap filler since he has no understanding of their offense.I'm guessing his agent has been busy shopping him around and he didn't like what the options were.
This. If there was a team willing give him a starting spot, his agent would have identified it, and he wouldn't have signed this restructured deal with the 49ers.I'm guessing his agent has been busy shopping him around and he didn't like what the options were.
Is he really any good?Is Jimmy even physically able to play?
