What do you know about Mizzou other than they spell the name of there own state, college etc. wrong?

I watched a Missouri (<--see thats how you spell it) game earlier for all of 10 minutes and there fans seemed unenergetic and there student section was a joke

I saw that they dropped 107 on Colorado the other night but I haven't actually seen them play.

Won't our student section be taking a bus trip there?

Just checking out their schedule, looks like they lost to two good teams, Xavier and Illinois, on neutral floors, and they lost at Nebraska which you can take however you want. They have two good wins over USC and Cal, but the rest of their wins are against cupcakes.

2009 scouting report for Missouri

Let's just say when I went there last year you could have sat as close to the floor as you wanted.

Attendance at "Mizzou" games has not been great yet this season. We just got a spam email from the athletic department trying to sell tickets to the KU game for $50.:wideeyed:

Who have we played thats decent? I think we have played all cupcakes too, except for maybe drake or iowa. No quality wins for us this year so i don't know what makes you think you can detract from missouri's schedule. Its obviously better than ours.

We went down to the Hearnes Center and got down to about the 5th row the year we had the 4 (or was it 3?) OT instant classic when Tinsley was a senior...

112-109 I think. Clarence Gilbert, bug-eyes, had 40-some points that night. And Tinsley's three right before one of the buzzers that bounced high off the back iron and dropped straight through...

was at the game against Mizzou when Anthony Peeler dropped 40+ on us.

I sat in the 4th row behind the Mizzoo bench (Peeler's family was right in front of us) and Norm was upset at one of the refs who had some Latino heritage. The ref was walking away as Norm wasn't happy with the explanation and yelled, "Hey! Taco Bell, I'm not through with you yet!" We yelled at Norm, "Hey, no racial slurs norm, this is Iowa, the education state!" He actually stopped, turned around and looked at us and grinned.

I was at the game when LE dropped a six pack of Natural Light on us. Funny, during the timeouts in Columbia that night Larry stood about ten feet from the team during timeouts and let Wayne do the coaching. Thought it was a little odd at the time, but I think certain wheels were already in motion.

I still think Morgan got the shaft while he was here; we tried to find everyone possible other than him. He proceeded to have an okay year, a good year, and one poor one and bam he was gone.

I would agree that he got the shaft but he wasn't JP's guy and neither was DMac, the AD ( weither JP or any other AD) wants to put his stamp on the program and I am confident that coach Mac and Rhoads are the future. Too bad he stubbed his toe on the last f-ball coach

Hi! Mizzou fan here. Since you guys are "the education state," I thought I'd come by and explain to you where "Mizzou" comes from.

Mizzou, it not a misspelling of the state name Missouri. Mizzou comes from when the University of Missouri was previously named Missouri State (really long time ago). Obviously, the acronym for the school at that time was MSU. As time went on, people just started pronouncing Mizzou instead of saying M S U every time. It is very similar to Washington State (WSU) going by Wazzoo, except Mizzou came long before Wazzoo.

Hopefully this will prevent future embarrassment of thinking Missourians spell Missouri as Mizzou. Have a nice day.

Until they stop confusing Z with S, Missourians will be looked at as backwards hillbillies. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
