Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

Not really. ND v. USC can still be a B1G prime time Saturday night game moving ahead. As can MSU, Michigan, Purdue, etc.

Can they though? The home team is the one that counts in terms of rights fees, isn't it? And if the B1G has the NBC evening window locked up, that means the only way Notre Dame can appear there is if they're on the road, which is outside the NBC Notre Dame contract.

Just pulled out my XS nut cup and have it placed securly point down, in the fetal position. This uncertanty is killing me, hate change.

Now that we know where the B1G stands, I’d expect the other dominoes to fall in short order. It benefits no one to wait.

And yes, mine is on too. I can’t shake the feeling that this won’t work out for us. Good things just don’t happen to the Big 12…

Good point. Will be interesting. If NBC is negotiating with B1G and ND on separate deals at the same time it's going to get pretty tricky.

Williams didnt say anything about SDSU, Wilner did. Wilner is a moron, just look at his tweets and articles from the last month.

Compare SDSU and everyone else in the Big 12, PAC 10, and G5, and who we added last year. They are behind them all!

Wilner overvalues the west coast. Listen to the guy for a minute.

Look at any of the data, any of the data I have posted on them. And hell I have not been even remotely the person close to being the most AntiSDSU. I just said there are better adds than them. They are clearly behind many, as much of the data proves it, they are a project to hope to be valuable, not currently valuable.

That's just blatantly untrue. CW teed up the conversation about SDSU and twice said that his understanding was that the Big 12 had its eye on them even prior to this summer's round of realignment. When Wilner made his case for SDSU to the Pac, Chris agreed. Then he said he thinks it's probably the Big 12's first call if the four corners schools don't work out.

So now you're dumbing posts you don't agree with and putting people on ignore.

Near'z I can tell:
1. San Diego State is Big 12's primary expansion target. Goal: Weaken PAC so Colorado won't accept invitation to Mountain West.
2. Iowa State has pending invite to SEC. Possibly as package deal w/ Washington State.
3. I'm not helping to answer your question, am I?
You forgot that the ACC is going to destroy it all, and emerge as the Power 1 conference. Because ESPN wants it that way. And the Big 12 and Pac 12 do too.

I am most curious to see if we hear any language about adding teams and what that means for the existing deal. Crazy to think the Big Ten could rake some serious cash for two years and get crazy rating for their over-the-air national TV games, then turn around and renegotiate in a couple years if/when they add more schools.

Still just guessing, still just speculation, still just going off more speculation. Still ACC ACC ACC ACC!!!!!

Still yet to post any data, any links any actual info to support anything. Get over yourself.

You are officially on ignore.

Please do, you're too ill-informed and a waste of time.

How do you know adding schools isn't already baked into their bid?

Because that would mean the media company made their bid not knowing who else was going to be in the conference, or the Big 10 has teams they are adding that they just aren’t announcing.

Both of those things make no sense.

I am starting to believe the Big 12 is going to have to trade the last year of OuT for a quality deal. Trading OuT for the 4 corners would not be horrible

If we're only now offering that, Bob dropped the ball.

OUT for making the Big 12 at least a P4 should have been the first thing offered. It gets you way more in the long run.

The issue is that helps OUT more than ESPN imo, and some schools likely feel good about their landing spot, and would otherwise prefer extracting a toll from OUT.

Haha! I think it might have been better to hold off on my question. LOL

I wasn't confused before, and now I'm really not. Whew.

They haven't announced anything yet- this is all "just what I am told".

We have not seen the deal. Clauses and such are easy to get in over the many many weeks. And the BIG is not going to pass on making more before schools are added, if the alternative was making less until they do.

It is not like the media companies are at risk of the BIG adding just any school. Rest assured, adding more of the BIG's targets means better possible T1 games for the networks.

Ok. Wilner was pushing SDSU, Williams played interviewer, and was agreeing with a lot, not really saying he thought they were an outstanding best choice over anyone.

My take of what Williams said and in response to what you just said.

SDSU HAD its eye on them Prior...."last year" and took 4 others instead.

SDSU would be a POSSIBILITY.....IF.... the 4 other schools said no FIRST. And we are still interested in expanding at that point.

What did I say. I was not in the NEVER SDSU group, But with all my posts with data I said there are better choices first. What is what was just what you said Williams said.

I’m just going to continue to operate on an Occam’s razor on this one that there aren’t massive wheels turning where there are zero leaks and zero evidence adding teams would be a net increase financially for the Big 10.

Good call on San Diego State though. Get dem before the B1G invite.

...For all I know SDSU wouldn't be bad. I did peak on a couple of dem pages. I might just be wait 'til the dust settles. My brain is kinna puny for some of this here advanced speculatin'.
