Better Call Saul

I loved how anti-climatic that was.

Everyone expected some big crazy thing to go wrong with Kim, where she died, went into witness protection, ran off with Lalo, whatever.

Instead she just did what most actual people would do - she hit her breaking point, and she left.

It's these kind of zigs when everyone thinks you're going to zag that make me think Gilligan is the ******* goat.

everything in the show could be done that way. Howard hit his breaking point and got buried under a meth lab. Completely unsatisfying Kim exit if that’s how it goes, on par with botching got ending.
They have 4 episodes to make up for it, and I expect they will, but it will be because this is a misdirection if it works out.
I have not seen either Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul. They both sound interesting, good.

Which series do you think I should start with? Or does it not matter too much?

Watch Breaking Bad first.

Better Call Saul is a prequel to that show, but you appreciate much more the character development with full knowledge of how bad thing get during Breaking Bad. The writers leave tons of easter eggs you won't get without watching Breaking Bad first also.

I think we're heading for a very anti-climactic ending where Gene gets busted, they discover he's Saul, and he goes to prison. No reunion with Kim, and no plot twist with Carol Burnett. The whole point will be that he's always been Slippin' Jimmy and Chuck was absolutely right.
Kind of feels that way but I think we have at least 1 more surprise coming.

Two episodes left. Going to be interesting to see how much Jimmy continues to spiral. I enjoyed last nights episode. It was fun to see Walt and Jessie again

Breaking Bad is 1 of the most well rounded shows of all time, as mentioned watch it first then Better Call Saul. Don't watch El Camino (Breaking Bad movie spin off) without finishing Breaking Bad, if at all, it's meh.

This would fit, but it would also suck. I’ve lost most or all sympathy for Jimmy/Saul. However, Im a sucker for redemption.

One of the brilliant parts of Breaking Bad was Walter's trajectory from lovable goof caught in a desperate situation to essentially a monster by the end, while somehow managing to retain some of that fondness for who Walter was at the start.

Just an evil, horrible person that you somehow still liked and wanted to survive. Just brilliant writing and Bryan Cranston is a genius.

And he's going to be represented by the DA that went on to be a defense attorney. They wouldn't have gone to the trouble of adding that detail on the phone call as well as having the sign of him. He's going to play some part in the final episodes.

So Jimmy gets busted in this episode, gets sent back to Albuquerque, and is represented by that guy. Maybe even Kim comes back to sit as co-chair in the final episode. Final episode is largely his court case.

I'm guessing she no longer works there and whomever he was taking to wouldn't give him any info on where she went. He was clearly keeping tabs on her while in Albuquerque, since he knew where to call, but now he has no idea where she is.
So a redditor noticed that in the German dubbed version of the episode, the phone call is more audible, and they translated the dialogue enough to figure out Jimmy was indeed talking to
Kim, and it heavily suggests that Kim was telling Jimmy to turn himself in.

Ha, I cranked up the volume and even had closed captioning turned on while re-watching this scene (DVR) to try to discover this important detail...

The writers are great at showing, not telling, the characters’ motivations and growth. Obviously Walt grew toward empire building fueled largely by his jealousy, anger, whatever you want to call it toward Grey Matter.

We have seen growth from Jimmy/Saul/Gene in small and big ways too. In the most recent episode he insists on ripping off the mark who has cancer. Jimmy McGill never would have done that; he would’ve let him go. But Gene is a changed man since interacting with cancer-ridden Walt. Cancer is no excuse in Gene’s eyes.

OK, how did I not know Jesse Pinkman was on The Price is Right? This is great! I was just waiting for him to yell "Yeah *****!" in the showcase showdown just for him to go over haha
