Yeah. Especially when there's three of them right there. Thanks a lot! Never knew there was enough room to have the fields run that direction. I guess technically there isn’t enough room, but for practice there’s no need to have a full length field.

Nope Jack Trice stripes. JK. It would be interesting to see what the stripes would look like on both sides of Cyclones and Iowa State in the endzones. Might be too busy.Is the I State Logo at "midfield"?
That’s wrong. The I-State logo is at mid-field (50 yard line).Nope Jack Trice stripes. JK. It would be interesting to see what the stripes would look like on both sides of Cyclones and Iowa State in the endzones. Might be too busy.

Drove down to that area about 6:00 last night. A good amount of sprinklers were going at the RV Village. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted to run through the 20 or so sprinklers running.A few interesting observations from the RV Village.
Each grass area has gravel near the road, presumably for parking.
Some of the sod is looking good, but much of it is drying up. Some rows have both good and dry areas. This week will be tough on the sod.

Seven Saturdays this fall, I’ll travel 75O miles round trip each time to vacation in Ames. I’ll also get an appreciation for Ames while in Iowa City, Lawrence, Austin, Stillwater, and Fort Worth on the other weekends.
Id guess the gravel is for turning into the spots.A few interesting observations from the RV Village.

I look forward to them screwing up mine for the 3rd year in a row.
I have attended every home ISU FB game since 1970. I have attended every away ISU FB game since 1976 except for one in 1985. That’s 536 of the last 537 games, excluding the 3 games I was not allowed to attend during the pandemic.Dang impressive. How many years have you done the full FB schedule, just making the home games would have been impressive to me.
Impressive. You have seen some serious clunkers in that stretch.I have attended every home ISU FB game since 1970. I have attended every away ISU FB game since 1976 except for one in 1985. That’s 536 of the last 537 games, excluding the 3 games I was not allowed to attend during the pandemic.
What was the old stadium over by Friley Hall like back in the early 70s?I have attended every home ISU FB game since 1970. I have attended every away ISU FB game since 1976 except for one in 1985. The games I went to while in high school sold me on Iowa State. Clyde Williams was a lot of fun to a kid of 17.What was the old stadium over by Friley Hall like back in the early 70s?
