Has there been any reports on how much Riley knew before he took the job at USC? Did he go there expecting the move to the B1G? Was that a point that helped recruit him?

To me it seems unlikely that he had no knowledge prior to him accepting the position

Riley’s act wasn’t going to last to many more years at OU. Competing for big 12 championships was not good enough for the faithful

I think the more likely is that the Big10 invite came because of Riley. USC had to make a big hire to show that they were serious about football again before they would be accepted. Without that move, I don't know if the invitation would have been extended. Not because of Riley specifically, but just that USC was going to do what was necessary to win again.

Riley seems like SUCH an entitled little be-yotch. USC is a perfect fit.

I read where Riley opposed the move by OU to the SEC, guess he figured that he would not be able to just out talent the teams in the SEC like he could more often than not in the B12.

I believe USC knew about this for some time. Riley was at least aware of a the high probability that they would be leaving the P12. It may have been a quick negotiation, but I would be surprised if he didn’t know.
